Re: Opinion piece on Today Show ADHD advice

Nobody's dismissing correlation - we look for correlation in order to fine tune which variables to research for possible causation. The problem is that too many people assume and accept that correlation automatically implies causation, when that it clearly not the case.

I agree, correlation does not imply causation. One might argue that in some ultimate sense there is a cause for everything but in a real sense, correlation implies correlation and that is all. What correlation does however is help point in the direction of causation and it is really good at this and that is one of the reasons it is used so often in science.
