Adhd and tv
DO YOUR KIDS WITH ADHD SIT STILL FOR TV AND MOVIES ? I SWEAR MY SON ONLY SITS STILL IF THE TV IS ON, BUT HE JUMPS UP AS SOON AS THE COMMERCIALS COME ON. HE WILL ALSO FIXATE ON THE iPAD. I HAVE NOT TRIED ACTUAL VIDEO GAMES YET SINCE HE IS ONLY FOUR. I THOUGHT KIDS WITH ADHD CANT FOCUS ON ANYTHING

Re: Adhd and tv
If it is something they are interested in, they can focus very well. My son would always even at a young age sit for hours and play legos but his is most definitely ADHD. Now he will sit and play video games for hours if we let him. Which we don't.

Re: Adhd and tv
I really am laughing out loud, my son is exactly the same. He is 13 years old and itīs so annoying and makes his sister mad. He can sit still for over an hour, the second an advert comes on his jumps up and makes stupid noises. Itīs like he has to release all that pent up concentration.
Heīs not into video games, heīll play a few but heīs never been that interested. |

Re: Adhd and tv
Please remember to turn off your caps-lock. It makes it difficult to read your post.
I can't focus on television or video games, while other's can. I can, however, hyperfocus on a project for most of a day. It's not so much an issue of an inability to focus, as it is the problem of selective focus and distraction. Focusing isn't the problem. Focusing on what we should be doing is the problem... at least with ADHD. There are other disorders that mimic the symptoms of ADHD, in which focus (generally speaking) is impossible. |
