new meds!

I'm sure my doctor either thinks I'm nuts or actually wants more input than sleepy me gave him today, but whatever. He gave a script for Vyvanse 30mg to try. Now, I realize you take it in the morning, but since my "day" will end around 4am, I saw no harm I'm taking dose #1 at 3pm.

After having been sleepy for months on end, feeling not sleepy and alert was a weird but welcome feeling! Don't get me wrong, it's nearing 11pm, the crowd is non-existent and dull, and I am feeling like I could wind down, but the "if I blink I might fall asleep" (no lie) feeling is gone.

It would be nice if this feeling stuck around for a while! especially since I don't see life calming down any time soon.

And bar stools are really uncomfortable. My butt is numb

Re: new meds!

Hopefully it works well for you. Did your doctor give you a 6 month savings card from shire?

No? But the girl at the pharmacy did ask if I had a discount card.... my script ended up not costing me anything tho w/ my insurance (which shocked the hell out of me and the pharmacist). Hoping it wasn't just a one time occurrence

Re: new meds!

Well that's nice. When I was trying vyvanse my doctor gave me a card where I would not have to pay more than 30 bucks a month for the first 6 months but I ended up going back to Concerta.

Also just found this website www.needymeds.org it is quite helpful. Maybe it should be in its own sticky thread.

Re: new meds!

PM one of the medication mods and tell them ^_^ it's a good idea, I think.

I'm finding that the crash is ... weird. I loose mental processing... typing is near impossible, reading is out, but I am more relaxed in conversation and much more upbeat and making people laugh, even after the crash. I also am back to being a space cadet (after the crash) when doing things like driving.... scary sometimes, but I'm a cautious person by nature, so it's ok, I guess. We'll see... I'm only on day 2

Re: new meds!

It was the same for me. It was smooth once it took effect but the crash was abrupt unlike Concerta.
