Adderall Saved me from Car Accident

I can honestly say that for once my ADD meds saved me from what could have been a very bad situation.

Coming home from work I was driving down a two lane road when I noticed a white tow truck coming up from behind me. As we were in traffic and it was raining pretty good, I was in the right lane he in the left. Over the course of about 3 miles I found us neck and neck in traffic going nowhere fast. It wasent that traffic was backed up, we were just hitting the same red lights. But during this time, I noticed he was driving badly even by my standards. When I was telling my parents about this story the first comments out of my moms mouth were, "if you think he was driving bad, he must have been.".

He was weaving within his lane, and just seeming distracted overall. At the same time we were both traveling 55ish in a 45 zone. I turn off one road and onto another, and so dose this tow truck. Seeing as how even I did not want to be infront of him, I was now in the left lane because he was in the right (both lanes turn into the same street). Light goes green and we both start to move, when he gasses it to zip infront of me and try and cut me off. Normally I would just speed up and not let this happen, but again he was bigger then me, and I did not want him to be behind me. So I let him pass, and once he was now in my lane, I decide to get to the other. I am now back in the right lane and he is in the left lane. Note this whole time he is still driving badly.

We are now down this street a mile or two when we come up to more traffic again, only this time it is stopped at a red. My lane was clear with just a few cars waiting, where as his had 20 or 25. As I continue to watch him we are still traveling 45 to 55ish mph with me about 10feet behind him and a lane over. When I start to think, his break lights are not on. . . is he going to stop. . . and in the matter of a few seconds BAM! This guy plowed into the car stopped waiting for the light to change. Here is where my Adderall helped I believe. Normally I would have been right next to him as I had no reason to slow down as my travel lane was clear. But I saw his driving and let off the gas some to give myself a good place to stop.

Sure enough, had I been where I normally was he would have went into me as well. See when the two truck driver hit the other car he jerked his wheel to the right trying to avoid the car infront of him. But when he hit the car it deflected him into my lane. Had I been there he would have met with my drivers side door (and me in the process). But nope I was paying attention and stopped in enough time to wach this whole thing unfold infront of me.

After things settled down, I was able to put my car behind the one that was hit with my hazards on and make sure everybody was ok. The driver of the tow truck was on his phone sitting in the cab. While the driver of the white car was sitting in his, shaken up but on the phone with the police. Seeing he was ok he said and there were no other injuries (there were 4 total cars hit as the tow truck driver hit with enough force to push the white car into another into another). I then went back to my car, got some white note cards and left all those he hit with my name and cell/home phone number. I also explained I had been behind him for some time so if they or their insurance had any questions to not to hesitate to call me. I would have stayed for the police to show up. But, I had to get home to take an online test for school and I only had a small window to do so. As soon as I got home I took another note card and wrote down all I remembered (time, date, location, etc. . .) and put it into my wallet incase the insurance companies want to talk to me.

Lesson here, a dont follow to close when driving Especially on wet asphalt. b. Watch out for tow truck drivers on phones (i assume thats what he was playing with). and c. Adderall + ADD - PI = me not getting involved in a yucky accident.

That's a really good attitude you have, taking the time to let those that we're not as lucky know you'd be available and happy to help if they need it

Yeah. The main reason I decided to help actually came from a past experience. A little over a year ago I as t boned by somebody running a red light. It happened at 4am and there was nobody else around. In the end it was my word against his. My saving grace was a security camera. But I fought the other persons insurance company for 2 weeks (until I discovered this tape existed).

I didn't want the people hit to be caught in a similar situation.

So that probably wouldn't be the best title for such due to the negative connotation of the first word, but it could be interesting.

Well mate it seems you did well,glad you are ok now

if i was there and involved accident ,i probably beat all drivers to the death don't mind it is accident
