Higher doses of Concerta

Hello all just a quick question, I am currently taking 90mg of Concerta after going up in dose from 18mg, and from what I can understand 90mg is considered quite a high dose?

Anyway I was just wondering is it generally considered that when you get to a certain high strength of Concerta without effect, going up anymore would be pointless, as if it doesn't work at these amounts it wont make much difference with going up in strength? or can it can make all the difference going up more and more?

Re: Higher doses of Concerta

Well suggested max dose for adults 108 mg per day and for teenage 72 mg max.

and yes 90 mg is quite high .Well i think that means your body has high tolerate to concerta.Maybe you can try another meds like Adderall ?

Re: Higher doses of Concerta

I recently read a case study over at medscape that covered a patient that was taking 300+mg of Concerta per day (actually prescribed and monitored by a doctor).

Re: Higher doses of Concerta

As with most drugs, the effect of Concerta will vary depending on your body mass. So, if you're in the region of 90+kg, then 90mg isn't exceptionally high. If you're around 60kg, 90mg would be quite high.

Because the medicine affects people differently, trying different doses is necessary. If 72mg does nothing for you but 90mg does, then it's worth trying. But you're right, at some point it's not valuable to keep trying higher doses.
