Can someone help post an image please

I'd appreciate it if anyone can help me figure out how to post an image to one of my posts. I've never put up a picture using a link before. I am used to just pushing the picture button and uploading it from my computer. Please help

Re: Can someone help post an image please

You need to make the photo available somewhere online before you can add it to a post.

You can use the "Photos and Albums" feature of ADDF, under "User CP", which will allow you to upload directly from your computer, and then you'll have a URL (web address) for the photo.

You can also upload the image to a website like Flickr, Picasa, Instagram, Photobucket, etc.

Click the "image" button when composting your post (looks like a landscape with mountains and sun).

Then use the URL of your picture when prompted to insert the image into your post.

Re: Can someone help post an image please

You're welcome. Let me or any other moderator know if you need help getting it to work.

Remember also that pictures should be "clean" for a family-friendly website (no nudity, no foul language, no advertising, etc.).

You can post your thread with the image in the appropriate section rather than in this thread, which I'll move to Forums Q&A in case others have the same question -- which I'm sure they do!

Okay, first try no good. Maybe I didn't save it properly or something like that.

Yes, probably a good idea to move it too. Ya, the picture is just a plain old picture spelling ADHD from a scrabble board.

Re: Can someone help post an image please

I followed the link to the Flickr page and then found the source code linking to the image itself. (http : // farm8 . staticflickr . com / 7151/13994413521_dcc6e6ce66.jpg -- but without the spaces)

I swapped that in, and voila! It shows up now.
