Throwing it out there -- job listings on ADDF?

Is it possible to have someone post jobs on here that people could look through? I know there are alot of other places to look for jobs but just wondered if this forum might be a place for those with ADD/HD to look for jobs...

All things are possible. Interesting idea. Who knows what might come of it.

Re: Throwing it out there

Great idea as long as the mods don't mind.

I wonder when people stop seeing ADHD as a mere roadblock in their professional life.
It certainly is. But not only that.
Poeple say "creative", but you need executive efficiency to actually create.

If you're finishing college, you have merely 3-5 years of experience in observing and experimenting in a given field.
At the same time, you have 3 times as much of experience in improvising when you have not what you should have,
testing the limits of what you can do without getting fines, raising "noncompliant" children ...

James Bond could learn from you guys.

You have skills that many C-level managers pay thousands for.
In hopes they will "get it" at a weekend coaching session with military experts.

I am going to place an ad on a popular job website. It will read :

"on behalf of an international trading company we're looking for people with ADHD,
experienced in living in unfamiliar and unfriendly conditions,
aware of a safe amphetamine dose to work night-shift if needed,
willing to take risk and able to report known risk factors at the same time,
able to provide 100 cheap excuses to our customers,
we will provide executive assistant.

working knowledge of burnout syndrome and why it doens't deserve a bonus, is a plus."

Or no, I will wait for someone else to spend their cash.

Re: Throwing it out there

One potential difficulty is, who is the "someone"?

Are you volunteering to be the person who has to spend part of every day cleaning and managing the jobs section, if there was one?

Re: Throwing it out there

It's an interesting idea, but this isn't really the best place for job ads.

Our forum guidelines prohibit advertising and solicitation of services -- which means we don't allow "help wanted" ads or "hire me" posts.

This is a general policy designed to keep the focus of the forum on support and information rather than on advertising.

That said, there are some e-mail listservs and websites that provide job listings or opportunities targeted to people with disabilities of various kinds, so those might be a good place to start if "disability-friendly" (or at least nominally disability-friendly) job listings are what you're after.
