Career advice

I'm 45 - was diagnosed with ADHD later in life after bouncing around from job to job. It seemed normal at the time b/c I was involved right at the beginning of the dot com era and even normal people around me were changing jobs often too.

Once I had an exit and got enough money to be comfortable (but not enough to have planes and houses) was around the time we had kids. So for about 8 years I was Mr. Mom and that certainly was a challenge - and a bigger challenge than working.

In that time, my "skills" as a web person became ancient. Been trying to get back into something - trying anything... very consistent pattern:

1. get excited about new opportunity, almost consumed by it.
2. dive in
3. hit a slight or realize that this is not the perfect oppportunity, lose interest, start looking for something new.

it has become exhausting to the point where I have been avoiding getting into anything b/c i know even beforehand I will quit.

Tried therapy and medication - the stimulants help but blood pressure goes through the roof (already been on blood pressure medication). Trying strattera but doesn't seem as good as vyvanse.

Looking to find a career/day job that I will stick with. My past points me to be a web manager, but believe that the quietness and sitting behind a screen is not ideal. Thinking back to my youth, the only job I really stuck with was working in a retail store. As much as I avoided it - but having a real schedule was key for me rather than the 24/7 digital world.

Sorry for the ramble. Talking it out helps for me to see it rather than the constant racing thoughts that go through my brain.
