![]() I am currently on Strattera 80 mg and Wellbutrin SR 150 mg and both have pooped out.
The depression is very, very bad as is the procrastination, anhedonia, etc. I feel like I am not even on ADHD meds right now. I have a pdoc appointment next week and need them both to be increased. The depression, more than anything, is doing the most damage. I have no energy to do anything but work and even that is a big struggle. Getting up in the morning and ready for work is the hardest right now. I have not worn make-up a few times and that is not like me at all. I hope that increasing the Wellbutrin and Strattera will help. I'm not sure what I'll do if they don't. I really do not want to try another med or two again. I've talked about Alpha Stim for depression before (you'll have to google it since we can't post links here) and did get a prescription after I tried it once (can't tell anything from 1x) but I guess I'm still leery even though I believe the testimonials. I'll keep you posted.

Re: meds not working
SSRI/SNRI medications have never worked for my depression but it changes from person to person. So if increasing doses dont help you maybe you should try other depression medications.
Also if you use a dopaminergic medication it may help you to feel better. Could be amphetamines or methylphenidate. |

Re: meds not working
Your meds are working noradrenalin neurotransmitter
Wellbutrin is very weak dopamine reuptake inhibitor. So your medications are only working for one of monoamines. Dopamine and serotonin arent affected by your medications, if dosing up doesnt help you,it would be really good option to use other medications. If you want to give it a try to SSRIs, cipralex(Escitalopram) would be good choice. |

Re: meds not working
I cant remember if you have shared this or not, but how come you arent on a stimulant? Stratterra was originally studied for depression and it was sort of happenstance that they discovered it worked for adhd. Seeing how you are on both wellbutrin and stratterra I am wondering if its like overkill.

Strattera was a failed anti-depressant relabeled as an ADHD med, with a success rate marginally higher than placebos. Welbutrin was considered a moderate anti-depressant, but its results are questionable. Lurasidone/Latuda has worked well for me for 3 years. I take Lamtrogine as well, but that more so stabilizes me. Latuda works pretty well at the low doses for me. Of about 7.5 mgs Bid. Higher than that caused a restlessness that felt painful if I didnt move around.

I never answered you! I was on Vyvanse and decided that it wasn't working then I tried Concerta and it made me so depressed I had to get off of it. It was a strange kind of depression too- very foreboding and dread filled.
