Unhappy Ritalin Misuse

Yesterday, I foolishly decided to snort 5mg of instant release methylphenidate to see if I could potentiate its very mild effects. Whilst I only have myself to blame, I didnít feel terribly well for the following few hours and now have quite a severe earache.

Has anyone else had problems with their ears on Ritalin?

I certainly wonít be making the same mistake again...thatís for sure.

Re: Ritalin Misuse

I don't think it's allowed to discuss misuse/OD's of medication, but maybe it's OK because this is a cautionary tale.

If the ear ache doesn't clear-up, go see a Doc.

Re: Ritalin Misuse

Have you snorted medication before? Terrible for your sinuses.

Re: Ritalin Misuse

No. It was my first time and I certainly donít intend to make the same mistake again.

It seems to have subsided now since the time of my OP.

Thanks for your replies.

Re: Ritalin Misuse

Treat your medication with respect. Ritalin is a pharmacological tool. I've been on it for almost a decade now and I've never crossed the threshold you have. I simply don't allow for it as the cost outweighs the benefit. Being curious about getting high off a medical grade stimulant is not an advised behavior.

I hope the painful sinus and ear is a bit of a lesson at least. Hope you feel better.
