So, at least for tonight, I'm posting a resolution for tomorrow. I could do it in the morning, but by then I may have already gotten a late start and kicked my day off on a bad foot. I've got to do SOMETHING to get out of my funk, so tomorrow:

I am going to get up at a decent time, not touch the freaking internet before I leave for work and get off to an actual early start. Instead of getting online and killing time and feeling like crapola, I'm going to work out for 15 minutes. That will get me going, give me a shot of dopamine, and I'm going to enjoy walking outside into the cool, crisp air.

I'm not going to sweat who I am. Who freaking cares? I have no friends anyway, the only person that has to like me is me, and my wife (she married me, so she must like me a little bit). Why do I care what anybody else thinks about me?

So, I resolve that tomorrow I'm just going to be me, I'm going to put forth extra effort to get my day off to an early and productive start to lessen my anxiety about procrastinating my day and not getting everything done at a decent time. And I'm going to exercise just a bit, because I know it makes me feel better, I just don't ordinarily do it.

That's it. A little conscious effort to make a difference in one day of my life. I can't do it every day, but I can tomorrow.

So, what about you? Anyone else care to add to this thread today, tomorrow, weeks into the future, etc.? What are you going to do that makes you feel better tomorrow?

Re: My Resolution For Tomorrow

My resolution for tomorrow is to wake up on time, eat something, and get to work on time. Try to work on my sociology paper at work. Enjoy myself, even. Then get to bed at a decent time.

Re: My Resolution For Tomorrow

I'm back from up north and have a bunch of wonderful pictures from there. We had a lovely weekend and took the time to relax some and be tourists for awhile.

A store near me has several of the things I want for Christmas gifts on sale at really decent prices. I started stripping an armoire before we left and I want to get that done while it is still reasonably warm. I have to call my sister and cancel Thanksgiving- doctor appointments showed up so we can't make the trip. If I can get this stuff done by the end of the week, I will be happy.

Never forget. "Normal" is just a setting on the washing machine.
Do you really want to be a setting on the washing machine?
If you do, wouldn't you rather be the spin cycle?

Re: My Resolution For Tomorrow

Tomorrow I'm going to get a plan together for my cellular sales business on the side, in the evening after our cleaning jobs. It is time to get a solid plan of action together, and maybe even get some photos taken of the phones I have for sale.

I also want to keep my current perspective of not caring so much about things like work and such to the point where I lose track of what matters most. My wife and enjoying life is more important than anything else. I have a hard time losing focus on that at times, and get wrapped up in everyday mundane things of life. I want to try and hold onto that perspective for a while.

Glad others are enjoying this thread, and I hope that others will join in.

Mike

Re: My Resolution For Tomorrow

My resolution for tomorrow is fairly simple... devote time between my appointments with clients to studying and avoid distractions, however tempting they may be.

Also, I'd really like to clean out the fridge, but that's slightly less of a priority.. We'll see how studying goes.

One last thing-Find out where the new office is for work and avoid feeling like a complete idiot when doing so. (Apparently they moved yesterday but kept the field employees out of the loop-chaotic).

Re: My Resolution For Tomorrow

woohoo! the veteran's day ceremonies went well (with all the waiting around in between etc): the whole thing took 4 hours!

tomorrow; get in to work early and figure out what the hell is going on. It got so busy yesterday, my "system" was no longer working. yikes-a-rama. and tomorrow is this big lunch meeting.
(resolution for now: enjoy the rest of the day off and stop thinking about this...)

Awesome! Good for you.

Tomorrow my wife and I have a house to clean that always seems to bring us down. I don't know why, but we both seem to get distracted there and lack motivation to finish. So, my resolution for tomorrow is to stay on task at that house and get it done quickly. Simple, but beneficial if we can do it.
