What do you do for a living?

I'm sure we're all over the employment spectrum.. Like to hear from those who work/go to school, or both.

Currently, i work as a "family partner" helping parents whose children have been removed from the home due to abuse or neglect, and those in danger of being removed. I teach parenting skills, ensure safe interactions, and advocate for the best interests of the children.

I also go to school full-time online at Peru State College, where I am a Junior wrapping up my Bachelor's degree in Psychology.. and i have a 4.000 GPA at the moment.

what about you?

Assistant to the managing partners in a law firm
(actually it's very interesting! and there's a lot of stuff my colleagues do, involving client work, that I don't have to bother with). I would love to go back to school but I just don't have time.

Re: What do you do for a living?

I worked full-time as a mchanical engineer for four years, not all for the same company though, the last employer caused me all sorts of trouble and I ended up leaving after having a major meltdown...

At the minute I'm re-training and am at University (again) doing Psychology and Computer Science MA, and I work part-time as a Door Steward/Bouncer (have always worked as one though, it's my longest running job!)

Laid off. And started an entrepreneurial venture! ADD is the best thing that ever happened to me.

Re: What do you do for a living?

Was a graphic artist for years & couldn't handle the pressure anymore & cracked a couple of years ago.
Going to look at in the next 6 months studying neuro psychology as I spend forever cruising the net reading this sort of stuff & really find it fascinating.

After driving a cab for 14 years, I returned to college to earn an A.A.S. in Automotive Technology (mechanic) just in time for 8 dealerships to close! so I am back to cab driving!

Re: What do you do for a living?

I am a stay at home mommy. I have worked for GM on the assembly line, fast food, customer service etc. I found the line at GM was by far my favorite only because it was so structured and I could keep to myself if need be. I went in did my job and went home. I then developed carpal tunnel on their OH so wonderfully non-ergonomic jobs and received a small settlement a year before everyone I started with was laid off, went into bankruptcy and shut down my plant. I have went to school in the meantime for crime scene investigation, but quit that. Also cosmetology after high school....also quit.... I need to finish one of those or start something new. Its hard my husband is gone 5 days out and home 2 for work and feel like their is no time, but really want to say I have accomplished something besides reproduction lol
