Question Worried doc has my child on Inuniv and Metadate

Our doctor put my teenage daughter on Intuniv and Metadate together.
The Metadate she has taken for years but now it has staring her heart racing so we wanted to try something else he suggested Intuniv..
She has had insomnia for 3 days.Restless can't sleep plus not eating good.

It's like its doing reverse of what it's suppose to do and she is on just 1mg daily..
She was not doing this before the Intuniv.
But what has me worried I thought the Intuniv made you sleep but its having bad effects on her.I am taking her off the Intuniv and getting a second opinion as soon as I can..
My question is has anyone here had this happen that is on Intuniv?
Help anyone???

Re: Worried doc has my child on Inuniv and Metadate

I have been told and read all over the place that these two are good and ok together....in fact I will be trying this this summer with my son. I think you have to be on the intuniv for a number of days for the changes to happen...though as always YMMV...good luck...

Red face Re: Worried doc has my child on Inuniv and Metadate

Thanks for the reply. But my daughter has tachycardia that was found when she had to wear a halter monitor it showed up and this new medicine is just not doing it for her.

I guess some can take it and some can't.
All bodies are made different. But never have I seen her this way It's sad.So I have no option but to seek a second opinion and she is NOW flat out refusing to take one more dose of it. She is almost sixteen and a good kid.She should not be going through this over meds, this should be the best time of her life.
I have read a few post in my searching where some Teens are not doing well with it.
I am just grateful it is working for some.
