Re: Today I am grateful for... (Part II)

I'm so grateful I found this forum, too. I've never met anyone, that I know of, who would understand what I've gone through. I've always felt like an anomaly, a freak. I feel like I found home.

Re: Today I am grateful for... (Part II)

The ADHD diagnosis I just received today after completing some tests and talking with the therapist. I was actually surprised by how much applied to me. Now just waiting to get an appt with a psychiatrist for meds. And is there anything more fitting than leaving for your ADHD appt and driving for several minutes in the opposite direction from where your appt is? Good thing I left my house a little early.

Edit to add: I just got a call from the psychiatrist and they can see me in two days! It's a little bit of a drive, but I don't care! I just hope it's a good psychiatrist.

Re: Today I am grateful for... (Part II)

Being back on Dex after too long a break...I absolutely kicked booty at work today.

And I will have to tomorrow...invoicing, bill entry, and when the parts arrive, build and set up a computer...in addition to the dozen-or-so little idiosyncratic tasks I have written down that need to happen...tomorrow.

But I am not worried...because with Dexedrine, all things are possible.

Step Over the Dead Bodies,
Ian

Re: Today I am grateful for... (Part II)

Finally got my blood labwork back after 2 months. Drs. Assistants are incompetent.

Anyway, lab results show I'm no longer within the prediabetic range. I'm back to normal which I'm very happy about.

Had reduced carbs (not to keto levels but much lower than the the maximum carb intake recommended for diabetics). I actually found that part to not be that difficult. So many natural substitute foods for carb items.

Hard part was deciding to go vegan as well. Still haven't succeeded there. Im finding it takes a lot more effort to make low carb vegan meals that taste good and variety is much more limited. Oh well, step by step improvements.

Thankful to have my son with me for the week. We live in two different states so I don't get to see him as much as I would like.

I love that Amazon offers Smile.

Every time I order something through my Amazon Smile account, The Center for Victims of Torture gets a donation.

As of now, I am responsible for 6% of their total donations.

Cheers,

Thankful for music. Feeling a bit down today...little stressed...so, as I often do, I pulled up YouTube to listen to the newest hits. Upbeat music always lifts my spirits. My current "feel good" song addiction is What Lovers Do by Maroon 5.

Re: Today I am grateful for... (Part II)

For perspectives that make me think.

Happened upon this today that was shared by a friend who got it from another friend, so I'm not sure who to credit, but I dig it.

In a mother’s womb, two twins were chatting.

“Do you believe in life after delivery?”

“Of course. There has to be something after delivery. Maybe we're only here to prepare ourselves for that.”

“Nonsense. There's no life after delivery. What kind of life would that be?”

“I don’t know, but there will be more light than here. Maybe we'll walk with our legs and eat from our mouths. Maybe we'll have other senses we can’t understand now.”

“That's absurd. Walking is impossible. And eating with our mouths? Ridiculous! The umbilical cord supplies nutrition and everything we need. Cut that, and it's all over.”

“Well I think there is something and maybe it’s different than it is here. Maybe we won’t need the cord anymore.”

“Fantasy. What's more, if there is life, then why has no one ever come back? Face it. Delivery is the end of life, and in the after-delivery there's only darkness, silence and oblivion. It takes us nowhere.”

“Maybe, but at the very least we'll meet Mother and find out what it's all about.”

“Mother? You actually believe in Mother? That’s laughable. If Mother exists then where is She now?”

“She's all around us. We're surrounded by her. We're of Her. It is in Her that we live. Without Her this world would not, and could not exist.”

"I don’t see Her, you don't see her. She doesn’t exist.”

“Sometimes, when we’re in silence and I focus and really listen, I can feel Her presence, and hear Her loving voice, calling down from above.”
