Restlessness?

How does everyone deal with feeling restless? It's one of the most annoying symptoms for me, I really can't relax at all.

I recently graduated and I was hoping I'd be able to relax and just chill, but now ironically without any work to do I feel even worse compared to when I was all stressed out with uni work. I just feel bored all the time but nothing seems to scratch the itch.

I've been applying for jobs none stop because it kind of gives me the feeling of actually doing something, but there's only so much applying I can do in one day.

Re: Restlessness?

I have the same problem with relaxing and with doing nothing. The time between uni and my first job was really hard for me because of that. A couple of things help(ed) me deal: First having several (2-4) projects (like an exercise program, a writing course, researching something, volunteering, completing a game, D&D etc). Second; having a space where I work (or apply for jobs) that I can leave when I'm done like the library, so separating work space from relax spaces. Third, I find relaxing is easier for me when I take ritalin. I can be more content with whatever it is I am doing instead of getting restless. Fourth is doing yoga/mindfulness regularly (I like Head Space and Yoga with Adrienne). Between uni and your first job you can spent more time than ever on things you really like to do (other than work) so it's worth finding a way to let yourself do that. Good luck!
