Thumbs down Got passed up for a promotion yet again.

Seems regardless of which career field I've been in it's always the same old story that I seem to just get by for a few years until someone new comes along who they'll usually end up promoting in short time because I'm guessing with my crappy personality and their belief that I'm incapable of handling more responsibility is the reason for getting passed up which seems be happening yet again.

I'm so sorry. That sucks. Have you asked them what they expect you to do (in particular) to get a promotion or to be given more responsibility?

They already told me I'm good after asking how they think I'm performing, so that more or less concludes the discussion, they're playing favortism imo and if there's one thing I REFUSE to do is to grovel to ANYONE simply because I might have a few learning disabilities and be also socially awkward, I'll drop dead before ever groveling to any of these ****s in this world.

Aw shucks, but throughout my entire work history I've never been promoted into that type of position, people must think really poorly of me or that I'm really messed up, I really hate being me sometimes.

Re: Got passed up for a promotion yet again.

Do you enjoy your job? Perhaps the dissatisfaction in what you are doing is reflected in your work interactions. Crappy personality may be triggered by your unhappiness in what you're doing.

I found when I was excited and enjoyed my job, my hardworking ethics shined and I was promoted. Even if I didn't get along with my boss. I will say that I'm usually not teacher's pet but there's no doubt that I'm driven and deliver. My results can't be denied and are noticed from upper management.

Don't grovel. There's no need to grovel but I think you have every right to ask why you have been passed over if they think you are good.

Is it a big company? Is there a union that can support you? Maybe they are playing favouritism but you can probe further.

Nope, has nothing to do with that, I've never been a people person plain and simple, I can't stand people to be honest and I'm not the type to put on a fake smile if I'm in a bad mood, I've had previous supervisors and coworkers make fun of me saying that I'm mentally unstable and blah blah blah 'you know', because I occasionally deal with depression and have a bad temper at times (In retrospect I should of sued the **** out of that one particular employer for defamation of character), obviously I must be performing up to par throughout all of my jobs or otherwise I certainly would of been fired and not have lasted minimum 3+ years at each job before giving notice. I'm an *******, what can I say?

People with learning or emotional issues are more or less discriminated against the most out of any minority group, I'm pretty amazed how some of you are still kindhearted despite how mean and cruel people have been to many of you all.

Maybe its warranted people think I'm a bit of a psychopath.

That horse has already left the barn door, just came up on my 3rd year since date of hire and it might be time to look for another job within the next year or so, usually I'll get sick of everyone I'm working with once I've been there for least 3 years or so.
