Legal/Medical Disclaimer
The advice offered in the ADD Forums, is for informational and support purposes only. This advice is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition.

Never disregard professional medical advice or delay in seeking it because of something you have read in this forum, or on any related web site! Advice given on this forum is the opinion of the individual posting it, and not necessarily the opinion of ADD Forums.

Moderators & Administrators:

Moderators are chosen by the Admins, no application to become a Moderator will necessarily be read or acknowledged.

Their duties include keeping the peace as well as enforcing these policies.

User Names/IDs:
* Please be very careful about choosing your ADD Forums Username. Your user name will show up in all posts you make in the public ADD Forums areas. Your username will also appear in search engines like Google.

* While selecting a user ID for use on the Forums is a personal decision, names that are derogatory, racist, offensive or might be construed to be any of the aforementioned, will be removed immediately, without warning. Repeated attempts to create or use such user IDs will result in a broad and permanent ban of that member's privileges. Moderators' and Site Administrators' decisions are final and binding in regards to this matter.

*It is prohibited to use or post your real last name in the Forums, or post any information that you would normally not post on the open Internet (i.e. your mail, e-mail address, or phone number).

*In addition, names or identifiers that infer or refer to, but not limited to a medical, doctoral, coaching, or legal expertise are also prohibited from use on these forums without explicit, written permission from the Site Admins.

Terms of Use - Copyrights
With respect to posting messages, uploading files, in any other way communicating on ADD Forums, inputing text or data, entered into and stored by publicly-accessible site features such as message boards (hereinafter "ADDF Public Content"), the submitting user retains ownership of such ADDF Public Content.

In each such case, the submitting user grants ADD Forums the royalty-free, irrevocable, non-exclusive, perpetual and fully sublicensable right and license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, perform and display such ADDF Public Content (in whole or part) world-wide and/or to incorporate it in combination with other information and/or works in compilations in any form, media, or technology now known or later developed. ADD Forums shall have the right to register a copyright in any such compilations.

The user hereby represents and warrants to ADD Forums that the user is the owner of the licensed work and all other proprietary rights contained therein and that the user has the full right, power and authority to grant ADD Forums all the rights and licence specified herein; that any and all moral rights any party may have in the licensed work have been waived; that no further consent is required from any other person, firm, corporation or labour organization to enable ADD Forums to use the licensed work for the purposes and in the manner described herein; and that no such use by ADD Forums will subject ADD Forums to liability for a further payment of any kind to any other party or will infringe upon or violate any property or right of any third party.

You should assume that ADD Forums and all of their contents and components, (including submissions, underlying source code, graphics, etc) are copyrighted and that, except for a single copy for your personal use only, you may not copy, resell, or redistribute any part of ADD Forums in any manner without the express written permission of the owner(s).

ADD Forums respects the intellectual property of all parties and we ask our users to do the same. If a user or other third party believes that its Content has been copied in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, that user or third party should provide ADD Forums with the following information: (a) an electronic or physical signature of the person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the copyright interest; (b) a description of the copyrighted work that has been infringed; (c) a description of where the allegedly infringing material is located on the Web Site; (d) the affected user or third party's address, telephone number and email address; (e) a statement by the affected user or third party that he or she has a good faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; and (f) a statement by the affected user or third party, under penalty of perjury, that the above information is accurate and that such user or third party is the copyright owner or is otherwise authorized to act on the copyright owner's behalf. If ADD Forums receives such a claim, ADD Forums reserves the right to refuse or delete Content or to terminate a user's account in accordance with forums guidelines. Claims may be sent to "".

Posts/ Bumped Posts
* Please try to refrain from using all CAPITAL LETTERS in your posts. Such posts can be very hard for many people with AD/HD to read.

* Please try to break your posts down into small sections or paragraphs when you have long posts. Huge paragraph-like posts can be very overwhelming to a person with AD/HD.

* When thinking about replying to threads please look to see what forums and subforums the threads are in before replying. If your reply has nothing to do with the forum or the original thread please begin a new thread in a more appropriate forum. All posts within a thread should remain on topic or posts will be removed.

* Read through all of the posts in a thread so that you do not post duplicate information. This will also help ensure that you don’t ask a question which has already been answered in the thread.

Deleting Posts and Closing Threads
* ADD Forums Administration has the right to close or remove any post or thread we deem inappropriate. The decision to Close or Delete a Post/Thread is solely ours. We have a strict policy of keeping the posts in this community constructive. Posts that create an unnecessary amount of conflict and serve no further purpose may be closed at the moderator’s discretion.

* Further, it is the policy of this community NOT to delete posts unless the information in a post may put someone in jeopardy. It is the members' responsibility to think of the potential consequences of the post they are about to make prior to doing so. Removing a post will often destroy readability of the thread by making it unreadable. Deleting the first post in a thread will cause the deletion of the entire thread. Members do not appreciate spending their time responding to posts only to have the post they make disappear, so we make it a point not to delete posts just because people change their mind after making a post.

"I am leaving ADD Forums" threads:
* It is the policy of ADD Forums to disallow threads that are purely to announce that you are 'leaving the site' for any reason. Posts of this nature will result in the following action: 1) The post will be removed from general view. 2) Your membership will be suspended without notice. 3) If you wish to have your membership reinstated then you may contact an Administrator or Moderator to request this. If you find it necessary to 'leave' ADD Forums for any reason - or just take a break from the site - then you are welcome to notify your ADD Forums friends via personal Private Message.

* “Bumping” a thread is when you make a post for the purpose of making the thread appear on the “View New Posts” option, or light up as forums with new posts do. While there are some circumstances when doing this is reasonable, it should be kept to rare use. If a moderator or admin feels there is no reason for this, there is a good chance your post will be deleted and you may be warned. Repeated abusers may have their posting privileges suspended.

Graphics, Photos, Albums, Galleries, & Avatars
* All graphics that users display at ADD Forums are to be for general audiences. Any graphics that the administrators feel are not appropriate may be removed at our discretion. Users posting inappropriate graphics may have their graphic posting privileges removed.

* Please be very careful when posting personal photos at the forums. Remember that when you post photos on-line they can be viewed by anybody. People can also download these photos too.

Custom Titles* For the "elite" ADD Forum member - Exceed 2,000 posts (not spam messages, mind you) and you can create your own custom title in the ADD Forums.

So, instead of "ADDvanced Forum Veteran", etc., you could create a title that says "Mother of 8yo ADDer", "Mountain Biker" etc.

2 Exceptions to this: No medical, coaching or legal titles (i.e. Doctor, ADHD Coach, Attorney), and nothing that violates the Forum rules and guidelines.

Please contact a Site Admin when you qualify!

* If any user does not follow the policies we’ve outlined, action will have to be taken by either the Moderators or the Administrators. The first step will be a warning. A warning (which will include the reason for the warning) may be a reply in the offending thread, an email to the user or a private message to the user. If after the warning there is another problem, a suspension or ban will have to be enforced. If you try to circumvent the suspension or ban, your actions will be reported to your ISP. If you choose to register a new alias after being banned, you will be banned again and your actions will be reported to your ISP. If you post on behalf of someone who has been banned, you will receive a warning. If you continue posting for a banned member after being warned, you will be banned as well. Suspended/banned members will lose any awards, reputation points or other similar recognitions received prior to being suspended/banned. Before any ban is enforced, more than one staff member will review it. All banning decisions by Administrators are final and binding.
