Re: Come on In If You're Online And Say Anything: Part III

I'm not hearing any hail with this rain, but it just got way cooler.

Winds at the airport 15 miles west of us were clocked at 74 mph!

Just your typical Kansas thunderstorm.

Except we don't usually get storms in the middle of August.

edit, okay, now I'm hearing the hail.

Quit my job. Manager tried to humiliate me, then denied it, insisted he thought I was a good worker. Screw that tired capitalist narrative.

"In Soviet Russia, worker quit YOU!"

The Parisians are trickling back from their vacations, lean, tanned and relaxed.

(This lasts about 10 days, until everyone is back at work and the school year starts).

So sorry it came to that. Most people put up with a lot in their jobs because
if you quit you can't get unemployment.

Well...not sure if that was supposed to be comforting lol.

I was only there about three weeks though. I figured no great loss.

Three month long chronic daily migraine. Tried accupuncture, didn't help.
Could be worse. Lady on Chasing The Cure last night has had a migraine
for nearly 10 years.

My Dad finally got to go home today!

7 weeks in the hospital really sucks. Chemo and radiation to begin in a week or so.

Every day for three months? Oh no. Is it continuous? Can you still sleep?

Thank you, Fuzzy. He is doing and feeling pretty well right now. Dad is regaining his strength to handle upcoming chemo and radiation treatments. He is really dreading them but at least he is home now.

My records show that there have been two days this month that the pain was
below a 5 on a scale of 1 to 5. I don't remember what it's like to have no pain.
Due to storms in our area, the pain has been at a level 8 for three days now.

Most nights I can sleep with the help of my c-pap machine, but there have been
a few nights when my head was hurting too badly to stand the straps around
my head.

I see my doc on Thursday and will ask if she recommends some treatment.
Some on my migraine support group say a steroid taper has been helpful.
Others say an infusion of ketamine has helped. Gotta be something.

Lunacie there may be a couple of things if you haven't already tried them. My buddy at work has chronic migraines. She's got some sort of tens device that looks like a wonder woman headband. It helps her a lot.

The other thing is my husband can't take nsaids for the next 6 months as of last week so he's trying to cut carbs to lesson the blood sugar highs and lows. The other thing that helps is citrulline malate (malic acid) but I've run out and need to get some more.

He's also cut out gluten and dairy and it seems to help (so far fingers crossed)

I'll let you know if this works

Re: Come on In If You're Online And Say Anything: Part III

I am generally a sceptic about things....every one in a while I have a dream that makes me question things. Once I awoke from a horrific nightmare about a car wreck in a complete panic. Turns out my dads secretary got into a terrible wreck the same night.

Last week I dreamt that I got placed in a class that would normally not have any support staff, and that is a subject that few folks have familiarity with (me being one of them). I got my schedule yesterday, and I’m in that exact class! Not only that, but the scheduling folks had no idea I had any familiarity with the subject.
