What does this smiley mean?

I have a question about a smiley. I'm not sure what means. I'd appreciate it if someone could explain it to me.

That's a smiley face raising an eyebrow... it means whatever it means when you raise an eyebrow.

At first I thought it ment seriousness, like ^_^

Then I thought maybe it's more like o.O

Thanks for answering, but I'm not much wiser.I see that it's a smiley face raising an eyebrow.:P I'm more wondering what the general understanding of this smiley is. There has to be one cause otherwise there would be too many misunderstandings between people who think it's a flirting face that blushes, and people who think it's a disbelieving face.

I use it when I'm pulling someone's leg or someone has pulled my leg.

example: I have a bridge to sale cheap if your interested

I have also used it when I have proven myself right in a disagreement.

Or if I'm in disbelief of what someone just said.

O geez obviously I don't know what its there for either but he's a cutey isn't he?

Thanks Futs!

Yeah it seems like it's likely people understand it like that. Only I thought it ment sincerity at first and used it as such.

I wasn't sure about that one, either. But this one -:foot: - suits me, and is most applicable!:foot:

This is what it really means.

whew. I did it, just barely, but it worked. Or I got away with it yet again![and nobody will know of my devious ways.] I am so foxy. heheheeeeee haaaaaaaaaa

I pulled the wool over their eyes. What a group. And now I am safe, so I can complete this subterfuge. Such fun. And no one will be wise to my plans of take over... And I look so innocent. But am I really , since they will never be aware of my true scheme.

ahhh, such fun. such risk taking. Such is the perilous life of this free spirited ADDER.

Thanks Chris!

Yes, I've seen it when it seems to have been used in more positive ways too.

So, I suppose it could mean a lot of different things that still have something in common. It's lucky that we're not refrained to smileys in real life, or in how we describe our emotions. We'd lose so much of the nuances then.

I still wish there was another explanation than "eyebrow" though...maybe it's not really doable to pin down an explanation; "It means this!"
