Question Stopping racing thoughts at bedtime

Is there anything that stops the racing thoughts at night to help me go to sleep?
When bedtime comes, althought I feel physically exhausted I don't want to go to bed but I know I need to. I end up laying there in the dark with my eyes closed for hours because my brain won't shut off.
I often take Klonopin, melatonin & L-theanine to help but it still takes hours to actually fall asleep. I've tried vitamin c tablets and other types of supplements etc. but nothing so far.
I also end up feeling mentally exhausted the next day despite caffiene, amino acids and my adderall.
Anything else to try? Especially anything that won't make me feel groggy or tired the next day?
Thank you!

Hello,

You might also try Valerian Root, GABA, Tryptophan, Chamomile, etc.

Re: Stopping racing thoughts at bedtime

Sounds crazy but you could try 5mg of Ritalin IR for sleeping but I dont know how or if it works in combination with cymbalta and klonapin.
Although it is a stimulant it lets me sleep like a baby and stops racing thoughts after 15-20 minutes and I fall to sleep in 5-10 minutes.
They morning after I dont have a sleeping pill knock out. It also worked for me when Vyvanse made me sleepless.

Re: Stopping racing thoughts at bedtime

For a long time medication helped me sleep as well. I think it still might, unless I've been sleep deprived for too long. Then I need to take a break from the medications and go to sleep without them. When I have more rest I can resume them.
