Hello from upstate NY
Hi my name is Carl and I am new here. When I was a child I was diagnosed as having “focusing problems”. I was taking Dexedrine until I was in high school. My grades were not great in high school, but I seemed to be do better in college. I had figured that I outgrew ADD. I hav become aware that I still deal with ADHD with problems in remembering things, disorganization, procrastination. I also recently became aware of a connnection between overreacting to things and ADHD. This is something I have been doing more and more.

Welcome to the forum! I'm new, too! I love that you also used a sci-fi show image as your icon : ) Dr. Who is a classic!
Also, I definitely overreact to things, too. In fact, I did it Sat night with my closest friend and ended up owing him an apology the next day, which I offered, and he forgave me. It happens!

Re: Hello from upstate NY
It seems that at different stages of our lives, we deal with different symptoms.
So it makes sense that when some symptoms are less of a bother we think we don't have to worry about the adhd anymore. Then we realize we're struggling with other things instead. And when you have comorbid issues, it can be difficult to figure out what issue is causing which symptom. My list of comorbids is ridiculously long. Welcome to the forum!

My adhd granddaughter doesn't have a volume control. She moved a few hours away after high school graduation and I forget how loud she usually is until I see her again.

I tend to talk loud too...
My wife constantly tells me to speak softer... even when I think I am whispering, I can be loud. |
