My brain is bothering me. Been for a walk to try and clear my head. No success.

Yeah, they can. But you have to have been to Hogwarts in order to be able to perform that spell!

Re: The what's bothering you RIGHT NOW thread Part III

i'm rapidly burning out from this school year (and school in general, really)

this morning i sent an email to my professors (i skipped both of their classes today because i couldn't get out of bed til 1pm or later) to let them know how important it is for me to file an 'Incomplete' for their classes (which would allow me to finish them during the summer, after classes are over). if they don't allow it, i can go to disability services and work out a compromise.

now im going to just focus on completing my Turkish history class, but i can't keep my attention on organizing this paper that was due today (i have an extension til Thursday). there are ten more school days before finals. i just need this school year to be over.

on a positive note, i've started gardening, i have my own sourdough starter (and it's been a success, and smells great, which means i'm doing something right). soon, i'll be living without roommates and that day cannot come soon enough. i'll also be workig & making money this summer, which will help my mood as well. right now i'm being supported by my mom and brother and i don't like feeling like a leech on their resources as a 21 year old.

i hope u are all doing well <3

I wish I could kick this line of thought right square center on it's shin! And then physically throw him out of the bar. He's not welcome at our party!

I'm not questioning your ability to take care of your small girl. From everything I know you are a brilliant devoted mom.

I share your worries from everything I read once a child's basic needs are satisfied (food, shelter, etc) the thing they need the most is love. In fact that seems to be a basic need toň.

That you've got abundance of love to give your small girl is clear!!!

Oh my, I felt like that so often, especially in the early years of being a parent.
The depression would get so bad I'd think my family would be better off without
me, but I couldn't bring myself to do anything that would leave my daughter a
very dark legacy.

I felt like a failure much of the time, but a couple of years ago my daughter
posted a Mother's Day message on facebook that brought me to tears. What
did I actually do right as a mother? I loved my daughter unconditionally. Even
when a friend dared her to shoplift and they got caught, there was no shaming
on my part. I supported her in choosing a diversion program so it wouldn't go
on her record.

I loved it when she brought friends home for dinner or to spend the night.
Most of them called me "mom." They still do when we hear from any of them.
I loved that too. Even when she went to a party with one friend and someone
slipped the friend a mickey. We all spent the night nursing the friend through
delerium because her own mom would have thrown a fit.

If you love your daughter and do the best you know how to do, and keep
learning so that your best gets even better, your daughter will love you
unconditionally too.

Here's what my daughter wrote: http://www.addforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=185554

Re: The what's bothering you RIGHT NOW thread Part III

Got a tattoo redone one and a half week ago. At first it seemed to heal fine, but now it seems like some kind of blister has formed and it's very itchy. I will call the tattoo shop tomorrow and hope everything is okay, but I'm worried about it.

Are you working on that in therapy? It may take a while before you see results, but I think it is definitely possible to grow self-compassion.
