Re: The what's bothering you RIGHT NOW thread Part V

Spent my day off fasting until after my blood and urine labs that were scheduled for 1:00 pm. Had to fill up 9 test tubes of blood and one sample of urine.

Ate and drank something and then it was off to the dermatologist. Had a good check up at least and nothing had to be cut off.

Re: The what's bothering you RIGHT NOW thread Part V

Have to go back to the surgeon AGAIN because the same area hurts incredibly when any type of pressure it on it, and I am supposed to wear a brace that keeps my thumb in line and am unable to function wearing it because of pain. I feel like a baby and if this is normal I will really feel like a baby. But it just doesnt feel like surgical pain- its more severe than any pain. Up until last Tuesday I was doing great and then its gone downhill from there, and I dont want to F it up by not wearing the brace yet it throbs terribly when I have anything pressing on it.

Awww Sweets I'm so sorry. That sucks so badly!

You know...as much as you've been through, as bad *** as you've been, as tough as you are...
It's OKAY to be a baby once in awhile!! My goodness girl! If you need to fall apart a bit every once in awhile, do so and don't feel bad for doing so!
Don't worry. You'll pull yourself back together. We all know how much of a tough cookie you are! lol

I can't believe I just called you a cookie! haha

(((((((Sweets)))))))

I'm sorry this **** isn't going better. Your damn pain can go **** itself!

Clearly you have some experience with post-surgical pain and you recognize
that this pain is different. That doesn't make you a baby.

I think I downplay my own pain because I've been called a cry-baby so often.

I was surprised last week when the nurse at the spine specialist's office asked
me to rate my back pain. I'm terrible at judging pain on the 1-10 scale, so I
just said that standing more than 5 minutes makes me moan and makes tears
start running down my face. I guessed that makes the pain a "7".

She said that most of their patients would call that a solid "8". Ha! I am NOT a
cry-baby! And I doubt that you are a cry-baby either.

I hope your doctor will figure out what's causing your pain and make it better asap.

Re: The what's bothering you RIGHT NOW thread Part V

/sigh...I'm really missing my parents still.
Must just be the time of year.

I'm watching some videos on easy but delicious meals...and damn I miss cooking for my parents. I'd find random things, then go over and cook it for them.
But they made it SO easy for me! They often times had all the small stuff I needed...the spices and seasonings and sauces and etc...and then anything they didn't have, they were always happy to buy or me (though a lot of the time I'd pay for it myself).

And it was fun! I really like cooking when I have people to cook for. And it was good!

Then my mom passed away...and I kept telling my dad I'd come over like once a week to do a meal for us...but it just never happened.
I wish he was back in town...I wish I'd start doing weekly meals for us.

...
I'm having a hard time remembering how much of a negative person my dad is in my life now that he's gone. I mean, logically I know full well...but emotionally, I want to forgive him for everything and bring him right back and forget everything he's ever done in hopes that he's changed.
I know he hasn't.

I just want to cook dinner for him and my mom again though!
To go shopping with my mom and splurge a little and get expensive fancy ingredients! To work all day on preparing everything...to enjoying a meal and a movie with them.

i really just want an hour or 2 of life being okay and in balance again. That's what I really want.

I miss you still, Ebony. I saw you at work today and felt you there while I was doing my job.

I wish I could have given you the life you deserved.

Its so hard to remember the negatives when we miss our loved ones. I feel the same or felt the same when my dad died. Its been 18 years now (! he died young), but its easy to romanticize things when we miss people. Just remember how stressed you were when he was with you and how much work it took to get by. If he moves back as long as he lives somewhere else you can resume things but do not live with him. ( you know this) He doesnt appreciate the hard work you do for your mental health and the strides you've taken to overcome things. Just think of my voice in your head if you are every hesitant.

Re: The what's bothering you RIGHT NOW thread Part V

Ok, it was all the casts/braces! They were all pressing on the same spot at the base of the thumb creating a lump of lie scar tissue type stuff. The doctor said he wished someone had told him the first time I got the second half cast at my post op- he would have been able to fit me for something else and take care of that stitch rather than me suffering for 10 days. I am wearing my drug store stabilizer- and the one he fitted me for I have to order is only 27$. I havent had a copay post op even though I have been there three times so I cant complain. It feels so much better already. I got my first exercises from PT and start twice a week on wed.

I'm so dreadfully tired. I am going to make up W and M's bottles and head off to bed.

My brain is not working very well lately. I am noticing gaps in my conceptual thinking and words don't come out of my mouth right or onto the page correctly. I look at words and I don't have a sense of them being the right shape. I have to correct with a lot of concentration.

I was looking for a pair of scissors earlier and I told my husband I was looking for the 'keys'.

Oh no
Do you think your brain is frazzled just because you're so exhausted? Sleep deprivation sucks.
Or have you made any recent changes to any of the meds you take?
And is this something you've discussed with a doctor?

I'm sorry you're going through this. My mom went through similar things...saying the wrong words (she's say she was watching a refrigerator, when she meant to say movie...or she'd look up into the sky and say...oh look at the beautiful....then she'd go blank trying to find the right word. When the word was "clouds". Stuff like that ...she had a tough time reading things too. Or she could read, but she started to lose the ability to comprehend what she was reading).

Frightening stuff
Doctors never were able to understand what was going on with my mom. And though she did a lot of speech therapy and got a little better in time...she never did snap out of it or recover from it. /sigh

I thought the same thing. Might be because I’m 50 now and falling apart.

Previous record was 6 vials.

I'm similar at the moment. Overtiredness I think. Are you quite stressed as well? Also, have you just had a baby/ies? (I'm asking because you said your making up bottles). I had a terrible case of baby brain. Still do. I still can't remember anyone's names instantly and call everyone "what's his name" or "what's her name".

Hope you get some rest tonight.
