Bad at multitasking...

I thought people with ADD where supposed to be good at multitasking.... I simply cannot keep track of multiple things going on at once...it's just impossible. If I focus on one thing, I forget about everything else I was working on until it brings my attention again.

Or do I have it backwards? Are people with ADD supposed to be really bad at multitasking? Is it drastically helped with medication?

Re: Bad at multitasking...

Hmmm... well I know at least for me, it's not that I'm good at multitasking, but when I have a bunch of things to do, the more I do. That probably makes no sense, but what I mean is... if I have a stack of school assignments, I might suddenly break away from one and start doing the dishes or something, only to realize I really need to get back to the school stuff. It's like when I'm trying to be productive, I start thinking about all the other things I can improve upon and then effectively accomplish next to nothing.

So basically, I also am pretty terrible at multitasking when it comes to actually finishing things (since I can hardly ever keep track of everything as well), but I still find myself bouncing all over the place regardless.

Re: Bad at multitasking...

I can't multitask either. If I'm doing something and get interrupted, it seems to take a long time to restore my thought processes to what they were pre-interruption.
