Do you have any New Year's Resolutions?

((I did a search and couldn't find a topic like this already posted ... so here goes))

Alright,
Another year has come and gone ... and 2005 is here. And I was curious to see if anyone has made any Resolutions they are wanting to attain.

I was hoping that we all could share and use this thread to help support one another in our attempts to meet said goals. So please feel free to share!

Here goes mine:
1. Quit smoking
2. Be more active/exercise (starting off with getting out 1 day a week to walk a few miles ... and go from there)
3. Attempt to be more organized
4. Commit at let one random act of cleanness a day

I will post more as I hammer out the rest and my PoA (plan of action).

Thanks!

-Ane-

yes....mine is to start walking in the morning.
I am going to put it on my list: on a nice yellow post-it, written in 1/2 in letters Walk, with a box next to it where I can put a very srong X. My day will begin.....
I will start taking vitamins
( and I will live happily ever after... )

oh, and that is only the beginning---
to be continued

Congrats ... I hope I/We here can help you stick with your goals.
I plan on starting off simple. I will start walking one day a week, and if I do well, then go for 2 days ... and so on. I hope that the added exercise would help relieve stress, so I can quit smoking.

**hugs**
Good luck!

thanks....
I also joined in on the exercise posts.
I know that I need to walk so I can stop thinking; I just need to relieve the stress and pent up energy. It really will help. I am starting tomorrow (really) and I am gonna post each day.

And good luck to you. I know that smoking must be very hard to stop. I grew up with smokers...I was the lucky one who did not become addicted, yet I saw the struggles first hand.

and hugs to you...

My mother was very much a smoker as I was growing up ... smoked before I was born, smoked while she was pregnant with me, and smoked until I was about 18 ... and then she finally quit during a messy divorce.

I use cigs as a crutch to deal with stress ... so I hope exercise will soon become an addiction too (to relieve stress) ... so I can ditch the and being the healthiest me I can be.

Thanks for sharing ... I will be rooting for you!

Good for you ... people think because you can way - say - 115 pounds - that you are 'healthy' ... when you could be the furtherest thing from it.

Good luck to you. *HUGS*
Keep us posted on your success.

I never got into the resolution thing. I guess I figured that people rarely keep them so why bother. Maybe change is good and I will come up with 1 or 2 or 3 or 4.

Smoking would be one.
Weight loss another.
Really Talking to my Doctor might be good.
Love and appreciate my husband more.

Hopefully not in that order.
Hubby comes first.

no em, YOU come first I know I know you meant of your list he comes first.

I'm determined to get outside more, leave before sunrise, home after sunset -usually don't take a lunch -one of those times will get squeezed, just haven't made up my mind which yet.

Outside has always helped my attitude and I'm due for a 'tude tune up

Thought I'd copy a joke for guys of PGd women what not to say;

"Y'know, looking at her, you'd never guess that Pamela Lee had a baby."
"I sure hope your thighs aren't gonna stay that flabby forever."

"I finished the Oreos."

"Darned if you aren't about five pounds away from a surprise visit from that Richard Simmons fella."

"Fred at the office passed a stone the size of a pea. Boy, that's gotta hurt."

"Not to imply anything, but I don't think the kid weighs 40 pounds."

"I'm jealous. Why can't men experience the joy of childbirth?"

"Are your ankles supposed to look like that?"

"Get your own ice cream."

"Geez, you're awfully puffy-looking today."

"Maybe we should name the baby after my secretary, Tawny."

"Man! That rose tattoo on your hip is the size of Madagascar!"

"Retaining water? Yeah, like the Hoover Dam retains water."

No new year's resolutions, but I intend to continue making positive changes in my life that I started at the beginning of last year when I got diagnosed.

No. No new years resolutions which I then cannot break. I think that making these resolutions for me, places me under pressure to stick to what may be the impossible.

Rhapsody--I know that one from past experience! Oh boy.

It just seems that this year the idea came to me AND it just so happened to be the new year...so I thought, why not capitalize on the idea... I am ready.

In reality, I have slowly been incorporating new "things" and practices into my life during the past couple of months. Seems to be similar to exeter's experience.

I am also sure that some things will be dropped or modified or even expanded on. I am leaving my options open.
