Do you still have impulsive symptoms while u are on medication?

For example, i interrupt my instructor at lesson by asking question , i do not think before asking, it just comes out from my mouth instantly even when i am using concerta
Another example, it doesnt matter i use concerta or not , i still cant wait someone to finish his/her word and i interrupt people in a discussion

ADHD medication works on inattentive symptoms for me but nothing works on my impulsive side ( anti psychotics, anti depressants etc)

No, and that is part of the reason why I think Dexedrine is golden.

Cheers,

Adderall has helped with my impulsiveness. I still get impulsive thoughts about as often but I am better at considering the consequences before just doing it.

Dex. did seem to quiet my impulsiveness as well perhaps even better than Adderall.

Many countries havent approved any ADHD medicine except atomoxetine and methylphenidate in the world.

Shame on them...

Ehh nothing seems helping for me , and i cant get any other medicine as long as i live here.

I used to live like this,it doesnt affect my daily life that much ( at least for me)
i didnt hurt myself because of my impulsiveness but i can be really annoying for other people around me sometimes

Practicing mindfulness has also helped me with impulsiveness.

i may try to but i guess nothing will work on me because my strongest symptoms are impulsiveness
my minimum symptoms are hyperactive ones
secondary ones are inattentive( i may force myself and do something)
impulsiveness completely out of control

Adderall helps quite a bit with my impulse problems. I wish it help more with organization. Maybe that is just me.

Re: Do you still have impulsive symptoms while u are on medication?

Even on Adderall I have had to physically put both my hands over my mouth to keep my thoughts from flying out of it at inopportune times

Re: Do you still have impulsive symptoms while u are on medication?

I've been on Vyvanse now for almost exactly one month, and I've found that it does seem to restrain my tendency when someone pauses even for an instant in a conversation (but usually hasn't finished what they want to say) to divert the conversation off onto some tangent or onto a completely different topic which is more interesting to me. I was kind of surprised in a number of instances when a thought popped into my head which told me, "Maybe I should wait to see if this person has something more they want to say before I speak," or "Maybe I should wait and introduce this other unrelated topic that I'm dying to talk about a little later." I definitely think that I'm a little bit more patient in listening to other people since I started the Vyvanse.

Sort of, I have less impulsive thoughts but if I get the chance to do something impulsive I usually end up doing it lol.

I'm going against the grain here, I take Dex, but I'm still impulsive to a degree, so I'm

Just watching myself always.

I can take it as long as it's not to destructive.
