I noticed that there are a few of us kiwis on these forums. Here are some support places in your local towns/cities.

Whangarei, heart of Northland



"Whangarei"




Whangarei is the cultural and commercial heart of Northland with an urban population of approximately 40,000. Whangarei nestles at the foot of forest clad hills and faces onto an extensive and picturesque harbour. The district (population total 63,000) extends from Waipu Cove in the south to Bland Bay in the north.

"Auckland"


Auckland is New Zealand's largest city, with a population of just under 346,000 within the city boundary and 1.06 million in the greater Auckland area. The city and suburbs cover an area of 60 square kilometres. The city is built on a narrow isthmus between two harbours - the Waitemata to the East and the Manukau to the West. Auckland is also presently home to the America's Cup yachting trophy.

"Hamilton"




Hamilton City is the largest inland city in New Zealand, with a population of 118,552. Straddling the banks of the Waikato River, it is a major service centre for the fertile agricultural region of the Waikato (which generates nineteen percent of New Zealandís total export earnings).

"Rotorua"


Rotorua is one of the major tourist attractions in the North Island. The city is located on the shores of Lake Rotorua. The surrounding areas are a geothermal wonderland, with geysers, boiling mud pools, and steaming craters - accompanied by the pervasive smell of sulphur. Rotorua is also a showcase of Maori cultural activities, a centre of tourism and a place of extraordinary natural beauty.

"NewPlymouth"



Located on the North Island's west coast, New Plymouth District has a population of almost 70,000 - nearly two thirds of the total population of the Taranaki region. New Plymouth is surrounded by a spectacularly beautiful environment. From its stunning coastline (offering some of the best surfing conditions in the country, and a marine park conservation area) to impressive Mount Taranaki and the Egmont National Park (which is a mecca for trampers and climbers).

"Palmerston North"




Situated on the banks of the Manawatu River, at the foot of the impressive Tararua Mountain Range, there is a thriving city called Palmerston North. "Palmy" has a variable population of 74,000 - 'variable' due to the enormous student population that enrol at Massey University each year.

"Wellington"




Wellington is New Zealand's Capital. Officially, it's population is 158,275 (with 414,048 people living in the wider Wellington region). Wellington enjoys a well-earned reputation as New Zealand's arts and entertainment capital. It is home to the Museum of New Zealand (Te Papa), the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and The Royal New Zealand Ballet.

"Nelson"



Welcome to sunny Nelson! Nelson is a beautiful city at the top of the South Island. Sunny year round, with incredible scenic spots such as the Abel Tasman National Park. Nelson was established as a planned settlement in 1842, and is now a flourishing city of 78,234 people.

"Christchurch"

"Invercargill"




Invercargill is New Zealand's southernmost city and the commercial heart of Southland. Known far and wide for its hospitality, it is the gateway to some of New Zealand's most beautiful scenery: the Catlins, Fiordland and Stewart Island. Originally settled by Scottish immigrants, the city's prosperity was founded on the lush grasslands of Southland.
