Re: Come on In If You're Online And Say Anything: Part III

About 2 weeks away from a Las Vegas trip!
My dad really wants to have 1 more big vacation while he's still healthy enough to do so. We're going to stay monday the 20th, through friday in Vegas, then head to the Grand Canyon for a day or 2, then drive up to Utah to check out the Zion National Park for a day.

He's been saving up for this trip for a couple of years now, and we've also sold some stuff on ebay to help pay for the trip. Plus he has a really nice driving car he just bought a few months ago.

We've already got 2 rooms reserved in Vegas...and we'll have enough money to really be able to enjoy ourselves.

He can't do a ton...his heart is very weak (he's had 2 major heart attacks and a quadruple bypass)...which is actually kinda nice though because I like just kicking back and relaxing.
Plus we're staying at a casino called the Four Queens which is on Fremont Street...and there's a TON of awesome places to visit and things to see right there. We probably wont even hit the Vegas strip (too much walking for him).

Anyhow...it's going to be awesome.

I bet you could rent an electric scooter. My daughter rented one in Anaheim to
get from the hotel to DisneyLand (her knee was hurting).

They have boat cruises on Lake Mead, that might be fun. Hope you have great
time and don't get on each other's nerves too much.

Yeah, I've been trying to talk him into renting a scooter for a month now. They're only about $50'ish a day and i think they'd be well worth it for him.
Not exactly sure why he's being so stubborn about not wanting anything to do with one.

We're going to see if we can do some sort of guided tour of the Grand Canyon. Maybe like a little bus tour or something...something that doesn't take too much walking.

When I was there 20 years ago I was still able to walk. I wish we could have
spent some time on Fremont St, but the others wanted to gamble and to walk
through the big casinos like Caesar's Palace. We did get to see Circe de Soleil
and that was awesome.

Re: Come on In If You're Online And Say Anything: Part III

I was into yo-yoing 15'ish years ago. Even took 1st place in the novice/noob division in a big contest in Vegas once.

Jumped back into it recently and have been obsessing over the hobby. VERY typical for me (I jump into things with everything I've got...burn out...then move on lol).

This orange/green yo-yo is special to me. It's without a doubt the most beautiful yo-yo I've ever personally seen now in my life. Blows my black/green out of the water!
I found an awesome guy who sold me his orange yoyo for $25 shipped. He was pretty much giving it to me, and he was doing it cause I'd mentioned how I wanted to make a yo in memory of my mom...and he was touched by it.

I already had the green.
And the center red caps are just painted with a little heart sticker. The paint looks pretty dumb and tacky in person...but someone just sent me a message just yesterday (he runs one of the major yoyo shops online) and said he'd be happy to send m e some proper metal red caps free of charge...cause he too was moved by my story of my mother! Freaking sweet as hell...and to top it all off...yet another guy got ahold of me, and he makes custom wooden stands to put yo-yos on so you can display them. He's going to send me 3 of them, and he's even going to carve "Love you mom" into one of the stands for me!).

My mom's favorite color is orange.
My favorite color is green.
My dad's favorite color is red.

This truly a dream yo-yo of mine and it looks so stunning in person! I'm so freaking proud to own this thing!

All excitement aside...I really am struggling badly with money this month. But I've no regret in piecing this thing together.
