Re: Failing at every aspect of my job

I know how you feel. I changed jobs and especially without meds I don't feel like I'm as good at this one than the old one.

I wasted a lot of time and energy being worried about it and not listening to assurances that all was actually ok.

I bet you're being harder on yourself than anyone else is being hard on you.

4. I only work on things that are interesting to me rather than on what is needed or what I have been asked to work on. I'm not sure why I do that. Well,on as very superficial way it is because a) I can't tear myself away from the thing I want to work on b) can't focus or get motivated to work on other stuff which is more boring

5. I barely talk to people. I can't socialize. I'm supposed to suggest projects and collaboration but I can't do that without talking to people.
I'm the same way (also in software). What someone tells me to code is seldom the thing I want to code. Kind of a "grass is greener" syndrom for me.

You want me to code a form where the customer can input things? Wow, the people working on the C# compiler team must have really interesting jobs...creating the things that enable people to code forms etc etc.

It's gotten so bad for me that I experience a form of "coder's block" and have been considering a different career, but I don't know what else I could do.

Sorry you're also dealing with this.

Re: Failing at every aspect of my job

Youre not alone my friend. I guess many people with our disorder suffer from this issue. I find it really hard to find the job fitting perfectly for me, as for the most of the exciting ones you need the right grades and you only have so much time in one mans life

Guess you need to make the best of what you want and what you need. Im also sorry that i cant be a jesus and give all the answers you know since i need them myself too haha :-D

Keep on going my friend, everything will turn good in the end

You could teach coding

Looks like Fuzzy has safely parked under Price's law, sometimes I envy corporate ppl being this lucky.

For me, the only way to go is pursuing the flow, and that is possible only when I decide what I am doing. My brain is so spoilt that I'd need a glucose debt to micromange it to do anythng productive otherwise.

Re: Failing at every aspect of my job

I don't come here often enough because anytime on the internet is me trying to fuss with my website that I have been trying to launch for 5 years

However, I've collected a lot of data ( surprised right?}

Here's a quote I love, addressing the topic here and I know it's a 100% true.

Everyone is a genius.

But if you try to teach a fish
how to climb a tree,
it will think it's stupid
its whole life"
