Has anyone been prescribed Stratera in UK?

Question is in title pretty much, I was offered ritalin but I was thinking about stratera. Is it normal for the NHS to offer ritalin firstly?

Re: Has anyone been prescribed Stratera in UK?

The UK NICE treatment guidelines for ADHD generally suggest starting with methylphenidate, then trying lisdexamfetamine if methylphenidate doesn't work, and then considering atomoxetine if neither of those two stimulants works.

Is there a reason you would prefer Strattera?

I was just interested in trying it, but i'll probably remain on ritalin because straterra takes a while to take effect so i don't see much point coming off it

Re: Has anyone been prescribed Stratera in UK?

I live in the UK and have just been prescribed strattera. I have a bit of a drinking problem so my doc is not keen on giving me amphetamines unfortunately. If strat works then great, if not then the booze has to stop for me to get a stim.
