Severe restless legs out of nowhere on Adderall?

It only happens towards the end of the day once my adderall starts wearing down. I do sit in a computer chair for long hours but I get plenty of exercise. I feel like im getting poked with pens and needles all down my right leg, sometimes it moves into my right arm as well.

What is going on???

Re: Severe restless legs out of nowhere on Adderall?

I get the same feeling at 2-4 am. It wakes me up because my legs are moving. It's incredibly frustrating.

I never sleep past 6:30 anymore because of my legs.

They even play into my dreams and I say to myself (in my dreams) you gotta wake up and get those legs moving.

No help here, just saying I know what you're talking about. If you find a solution or answer, I'll be interested to hear it.

I have leg that gets tingly, burning like I rubbed capsaicin on it or something. But I've never associated it with Adderall, just assumed it was a pinched nerve or something.

Re: Severe restless legs out of nowhere on Adderall?

My legs tingle too, but the restlessness is a bit different. It's not like my foot is falling asleep or I'm laying on it wrong. It's more like there's a machine from my thigh down and it just gets turned on low.
Not like I'm sleep walking and my legs take me to the kitchen , but they move around like a puppet on a string.
I don't know how else to describe it.

Re: Severe restless legs out of nowhere on Adderall?

During the night this could be RLS (restless leg syndrome). Can also happen during the day but I haven't had it happen yet. Dopamine (or lack there of) is usually the cause and the first line treatment options are Requip and Mirapex. These are used for Parkinson's disease in large doses and RLS in tiny doses. I've been on Requip for a few years and it works well.

Re: Severe restless legs out of nowhere on Adderall?

I experience this and take Clonazepam to treat the condition.
However, I am interested in switching from Vyvanse to Dexedrine XR because it's my belief that these new formulations i.e. Adderal, Vyvanse are best implemented to offset what people describe as a 'crash' when it wears off. I think that it's this 'crash' that people with RLS actually could benefit from since it suggests that the effect at the end of the day is one of less mobility and stillness
