Re: WARNING!!!: aspartame DEADLY poison!!!

It has an effect on me.

The two specific items I've had that had aspartame were:

Diet Dr. Pepper

Quote:
Carbonated water, caramel color, aspartame, phosphoric acid, natural and artificial flavors, sodium benzoate (preservative), and caffeine.
And Crystal Light Lemonade:

Quote:
Citric Acid, Potassium and Sodium Citrate, Aspartame (Phenylketonurics: Contains Phenylalanine), Magnesium Oxide, Contains Less then 2% of Natural Flavor, Lemon Juice Solids, Acesulfame Potassium, Soy Lecithin, Artificial Color, Yellow 5, BHA (Preserves Freshness).
I am definitely not phenylketonuric. I don't think it is another ingredient as I have no issues with non-diet Dr. Pepper and they only use the one sweetener as it is.

As long as I avoid anything with aspartame, I am fine. If I drink anything with aspartame, whether I know I have or not my anxiety starts to spike, and I sometimes experience migraines.

I specify whether I know I have or not because Crystal Light Lemonade actually tastes fairly good and has little to no aftertaste. I drank some accidentally when I thought it was Country Time (we had both in the house at the time), and the anxiety started.

So I think we can dispense with "it doesn't have an effect." Enough people have reported effects, for that matter.

I don't think it's a deadly poison, but I do think it significantly reduces my quality of life.

Aspartame is better than sugar! I would rather die than lose my teeth to sugar! Teeth are your greatest asset.
