Re: Today I am grateful for... (Part II)

Grab some crayons and start coloring the zebras until you fall asleep...and stay asleep. Coloring is good for stress, they say, but not sure what the zebras will think of it. lol

Re: Today I am grateful for... (Part II)

The opportunity to nurture both of my moms yesterday by filling their fridges with some tasty and healthy vittles. Quality time along with some of the most precious hugs available. So much gratitude. It'll take a day or two to recover, but it's worth it.

Re: Today I am grateful for... (Part II)

Just got my car stuck in the middle of a side road...I tried for a good 15 minutes to unstuck myself but got no where.

A domino's delivery driver in a big SUV stopped and tried to help...he had a tow cable and everything and he seemed like he knew exactly what to do.
Only problem...is there was nowhere to latch the cable onto the front of my car...he even got on his back and went underneath to find a spot...but there was so much packed snow underneath my car he couldn't find a place to safely latch onto without breaking something.
He had to take off though as he had some pizzas yet to deliver.

I went to a store to call my dad to come help...he came and we tried to dig a little of the snow from the car with a small metal shovel he had...nothing. Car wouldn't budge an inch...man I was pushing with everything I had!

All the sudden there was 5 or 6 people there in the middle of the street with me. I don't know if they all came in the same vehicle or what...but they all seemed like strangers to each other.
It was so nice though! One of the guys had a small personal shovel and got on his knees to start digging out some of the snow from underneath my front tires...and then we all decided to give the car a big giant push as my dad pushed down on the gas. We had 4 strong guys at the back of the car pushing with all we had...and then...
Free! The car was free from the snow bank I decided to drive directly into (/sigh).

It was embarrassing and I hate taking people's help...but I was VERY grateful to them and did lots of "thank you so muches!!!".

And now that I'm home I'm sitting here and I could almost cry it was so nice. How complete strangers just stopped for me like that and put so much effort into helping me. :*)
It's just a nice feeling you know? They didn't have to do that for me, but they did and I'm swept away right now with gratefulness.

Sometimes I stop and really just love people.
Today those guys are my heroes.
I thought for sure I was going to have to pay a tow truck to come get me out.

I love people.

A good night's sleep, more sunshine, more blue skies, more weird warmth in the middle of winter, and an afternoon visit scheduled with my favorite needle pusher (acupuncturist), 10 yr old, and their fur babies.

Do you do hot cocoa Unsy? Or something similar? lol I'm not entirely sure why, but I see you and your 10 year old buddy spending the day just sipping away at a couple of cups of hot cocoa today chatting away and having a lovely time.

I want to come over and have hot cocoa with you guys too!

I do.....c'mon over. I make it with almond milk, organic cocoa, or cacao, and sometimes carob powder, instead, topped with vegan miniature marshmallows.

Good stuff. But it's too warm for that today. lol It's almost 60 again. It'll be cold again tomorrow, though. lol So by the time you get here, it'll be time to heat some up. Crazy a** weather.

I am simply grateful to be so sick, haha. I love and hate ADHD.
All over its me and nothing in me with a need to be extinguished.

So why attack if I can love and feed?

I’m glad I don’t have to do a work evaluation...because right now I think I would
say things that would not reflect well on me, and I might even come across as
cross in my self-report, e.g.,

“Ian has dropped the ball on this, that, and the other, because he is overwhelmed
by the number of assigned responsibilities and stressed about the volume of work
necessary to meet them. Also, Ian finds his salary to not be in concert with the nature
of the job. Ian is both cheery and weary, and in danger of burning out, you slags.”

Lulz,
Ian

I am grateful for:
  • my astute, engaged, and respectful doctor
  • my ADHD-PI diagnosis
  • the wonder that is...Dexedrine™!
  • my transition from CR to IR
  • the ease with which I gave up nicotine
  • the mood brightening effect of Dex
