Taking a small dose at bed time

I find that its when the dexedrine has left my system that I have trouble sleeping so taking it in the morning doesn't help me avoid insomnia at all. When the drug leaves my system I get the polar opposite effects of it, I become full of energy and restless. This restlessness makes it near impossible to sleep cuz I can't lay still long enough to fall asleep. Dexedrine usually does the polar opposite to me, it relaxes me so much that I can sit in one spot without moving a muscle for 5 hours straight. I decided to start experimenting with taking a small dose before bed time to see if it counteracts the restlessness and ultimately the insomnia. I just took 5mg and I'm starting to feel much more relaxed already but I don't know if it'll help me sleep or not. Has anyone here tried taking a small dose before bedtime to get to sleep?

Re: Taking a small dose at bed time

I assume you've talked to your doctor about dosing before going to bed. For some people, myself included, amphetamine, methamphetamine and methylphenidate make them calmer, more relaxed, and drowsy enough to sleep comfortably and consistently throughout the night. I would advise discussing it with your doctor or a sleep medicine specialist before doing so of course.
