Re: You Know You Have ADHD When ...

When you check out a book on ADHD from the library, and renew it three times while trying to get around to finishing it. Then, by the time you finish it and return it, you owe late fees...

I have stoped using the library - it's cheaper for me to buy the books!

Thank God my current psychiatrist has an sms service that reminds you of your appointment one day in advance!

Re: You Know You Have ADHD When ...

1) You look for your keys just to discover they are still in the car... with the car running, and all doors locked... and you got home 2 hours ago.

2) You go on your company intranet to print out a form, and find yourself on yahoo news (or ADD Forums) instead... and then spend 10 minutes reviewing your task list trying to remember why you went online in the first place.

3) You look back at the computer thinking you sent out an important email, and discover that not only did you not send it... the only thing you typed was the persons name.

4) Your task-list has more doodles than tasks.

5) When people ask for "status" you make up whatever excuse you can to "get back to them in a bit" so you can try to locate, and figure out where you put that "item"... all while praying you remembered to do it in the first place.

6) You find yourself surprised when you realize you did do something you don't remember doing...

7) Your co-worker down the hall always points out when "your talking to yourself again".... and you reply "oops... sorry"

I would miss every appt ever scheduled if it wasn't for dr's that give a reminder call the day before!

You take two kids with ADHD to 4 stores with you and because none of you can actually focus and because the kids are driving you up a wall... what should of taken 4 hours tops takes you 8 hours! I will be sooo glad when school starts. And am extremely grateful my hubby called and reminded me to pick up my sons concerta as both kids were unmedicated today along with myself!

The Library threatened to have my legs broken

but seriously - I messed up bad with the Vancouver Library about 12 years ago, lost a bunch of expensive hard covers, possibly 1k+ worth

wonder if they have a statue of limitations or something

...when the biggest accomplishment of your day is realizing that when you say every letter of the alphabet with the word "ale" on the end of it it will always be a word - phonetically. Except X, Z and vowels.

Re: You Know You Have ADHD When ...

When a police car has been following for who knows how long and probably feel your complete lack of attention/obliviousness is funny as hell so they turn on the siren just to watch you jump out of your skin (happened twice!)

After at least ten time of wearing the thong from HELL which you swear you'll throw out and never ever wear again each and every time you wear it, you think.. well it is pretty, and it's not THAT bad as you head out for a 12 hr shift..

and you washed it and didn't throw it out.. (yet) sigh

When you have a hard time regulating emotions and your facial expressions make people ponder if you're ok.

Hahaha! I totally do this.

When you go to give the dog a short walk around the block and wind up wandering the neighbourhood for an hour or more instead. (dog is very happy)
