What are some other ways to fight back hairloss while on adderall?

I'm experiencing some minor hair loss, my widow's peak had been receding ever since taking it a year and a half ago. My dosage is only 15-18mg of the XR, and I never abuse it.

I found that Vitamin B helps it, as well as Vit. C, what are some other preventative ways we can do that worked for you?

I have heard that those hair growing shampoos can help. I take a sh*t ton of vitamins for other reasons but to keep my hair healthy I take biotin.

Re: What are some other ways to fight back hairloss while on adderall?

Unfortunately our friendly pharma is not showing much interest in ADHD'ers huge hair loss dilemma, even though they are exploring using dopaminergic agents for hirsuitism. Ironic. That said, through my various trials, I would share my learnings. I do think if we get likeminded folks here, a microbiologist, or person with a specialty into chemical compounds we could find a solution to this.

It seems the mechanism of hair loss is due to:

a) dopamine inducing catagen phase in hair follicles. i.e. resulting into a generalized diffused hairloss all over the body including your head hair : ). Fortunately this is reversible over short-term. Implication: which agents prevent hair from going into catagen phase?

b) reduced follicle keratinazation. Implications: Refer to supplement stack below for metabolizing proteins into keratin and to replenish follicular nutrients so hopefully hair stays in anagen.

My supplement stack:
- Vitamin D3, Magnesium, Biotin, Zinc, quality protein, collagen, keratin. I have observed that megadosing of vitamins (ones you safely can), and more importantly taking them in liposomal forms helps a little more, maybe due to enhanced bioavailability. But still this leaves much to be desired.

Something else I meant to mention is a hair care line called Nioxin. I know cancer patients going through chemo that have managed to slow down their hair loss by using it. They have a really good scalp therapy shampoo. It didnt stop hair loss after awhile but it really made a difference when it came to thinning hair.
