Gaba + 5htp

I found something natural to work for me. 300-500 mg of GABA as well as 100-300 mg of 5HTP make me yawn and feel a little knocked out. at lower doses it still helps me with relaxing so I can sleep better..

does get pricey though. I got the idea from Dream Water which really helps, except its expensive, and that consists of: melatonin, gaba, and 5HTP.

Hope I helped someone

oh also, I dont wake up groggy because i'm not sure at how long they last in your system. maybe only a few hours? great for naps!

toodles

I like GABA, and I would like to like 5HTP, but 5HTP seems to trigger migraines in me, so I have to stay away from it.

As i know,GABA supplements do not pass blood-brain barrier, their efficiency is not proved

I have also read that oral GABA does not cross the blood-brain barrier. However, even if true, this does not appear to rule out its efficacy in promoting sleep and many other functions. Consider...

Update on 5-HTP

After coming across research with 5HTP in mice that said it seemed to improve deep sleep when administered 12 hours in advance of the later part of the sleep period, I tried taking it (on an empty stomach) between 2-4pm.

And voila, no headaches, and it seemed to work to improve sleep 12 hours later for me just as it did with the mice. Better deep sleep (according to my FitBit) and less tendency to wake up before dawn.

Now I guess I need to set a reminder, because the last thing I'm thinking about between 2 and 4 pm is the next night's sleep.
