I totally get that feeling of wanting to be finally understood..and yeah you deeserve all the credit for 1. Having managed for so long without treatment and 2. For seeking treatment and inproving yourself.

Too bad you cant tell your boss but at least you know....(and we know..but we love you Anyway).

Re: The what's bothering you RIGHT NOW thread Part IV

Just dropped fuzzling off at the nursery. She started whining as soon as we parked. The whining got progressively worse as we entered the building and walked to the baby room and finally she broke out into a wail when we entered the baby room. She obviously knows the place now and knows I'm going to leave her there and she hates it.

I hope she wont refuse to get into the car seat from tomorrow...

Just

At the same time I'm glad to have a bit of time to get some stuff done. I've got 3h and tons of work. Better get started. If I'm forcing fuzzling to stay in a place she hates I really better not waste all the time.

Re: The what's bothering you RIGHT NOW thread Part IV

Is it ever a good idea to bring the subject of mental health up at work?

generally speaking, no.

if you have human resources and they're required to give you accommodations, then possibly. it depends on the diagnosis you're registering with, frankly.

Re: The what's bothering you RIGHT NOW thread Part IV

I have an UNBELIEVABLE crick in my neck and back, like for the past 2 days I feel like I've been frozen solid facing forward. And I still have a little cough, and every time I have to cough it's a catastrophe in my back. Oh my god it is painful and also pretty pathetic.

Couls it be neck torticollis? When no had thag ig felt like every tike I tried to move my head to the side it jimped back like a spring. I could only look ahead.

I was prescribed benzos, which didnt help and it got better adter a day or so. The kost important was to keep yoir moving yoir head gently from side to side..as much as is comfortable...might he better to check though if tjats what you have.

I would let them know you have had some personal issues lately which has been distracting and have made it difficult to be cheerful. No need to bring up anything about your mental health. I would apologize and mention you didn't realize it was that noticeable and affecting your job and even thank them for letting you know.

Let them know you are working hard on it and soon they will get their cheerful hard worker back. No one wants her back more than you.

In the mean time try and fake it the best you can. This is only my opinion and what I would probably do. Good luck and continue seeking out other job options.

I know from experience that if you say personal issues to them they want to know exactly what the personal issues are

And one thing that's been really bothering me today that I cannot shake the thought of:

Tigger has to go into the vet on Saturday for her booster, can't for the life of me shake off the "what if they give her the euthanasia stuff instead of the vaccination stuff" thought

I would politely say they are "personal" and would rather not get in to it. Reassure them it's nothing for them to be concerned with and that you will be back to your happy hardworking self again soon.
