Cool Workarounds for Erectile Dysfunctions?

I am male 46. I am on Fluvoxine 100mg+100mg and Stratera (Attentrol ) 25mg+25mg for my OCD and ADHD. medication Started recently only even though I am a chronic patient who was with occasional medications before.

Most of my past life, I often quit medication because of ED issues. (Sex is very Important for me because of my GF). But currently I am in s state that Medication cannot be avoided if I want to survive at all in in my work and relations. (I hope that makes things seriously clear)

I would like to know the workarounds you people do in slimier situations. Will the problem subside as time passes? I think some posts here suggests that experience. what about Tadafil 20mg? I tried but not very effective with this med, better off course. Then what about skipping few days prior to a trip where you expect good sexual activity? if that is effective, how many days prior?

My doctor who is young doesn't seems to be very much concerned about my sex interested at this age! .

Hope we can derive some strategies even at the expense of some my original intended benefits of medications.

Thanks for reading

Re: Workarounds for Erectile Dysfunctions?

So you recently started the meds? Is your libido perfectly fine while off the meds?

Because if not then you seem to be about the age to look into testosterone replacement therapy.

Re: Workarounds for Erectile Dysfunctions?

Thanks for the response.
I cannot say that it was perfect, but manageable with Tadafil 20 mg once in two week. But with this booster once and while I am sure I was a good performer.
This fluvoxine and strattera started three weeks ago. May be premature to make assumptions. But now todafil somehow gives erection, but not good quality.

May I know what is this testosterone therapy? I know it is male hormone. Is it needs prescription?
Thanks.

Testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is what it is - not that your issue is necessarily related to ED, but it's always nice to know you have optimal testosterone levels for a man your age. I prefer a urologist for this issue. They can test your level and advise if they're low.

Thanks for the info. I will keep this in mind.
btw It seems the ED issue is slightly improving as body gets familiar with medicine.
I am on Fluvoxine XR 100mg+100mg and Stratera (Attentrol ) 25mg+25mg+25mg for my OCD and ADHD.. OCD seems to be very much relieved by two weeks medication, but ADHD seems need more time with strattera. Anyway waiting with hope and reading books about living with ADHD.
Thanks again

Re: Workarounds for Erectile Dysfunctions?

I think the OP deserves some real credit for opening up a thread that is of real concern to many men who do do have the confidence to ask about these things.

You need to know you are not alone and many silent mean will benefit from this thread.
Have you tried Viagra or something similar?
Kudos

Re: Workarounds for Erectile Dysfunctions?

Right partner(s), right technique(s), no problems.

Add in a phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitor if necessary, e.g. tadalafil (Cialis), sildenafil (Viagra), vardenafil (Levitra).

There are ways to make it work, even if that means a change of regimen, dosage, or meds.

That said, fluvoxamine (Luvox) + atomoxetine (Stattera) is a brutal combo when it comes to concern about a limp noodle.

Cheers,
Ian

No. You're right.. its a very valid hit to the male ego too. There's never any intent to shame. But. This is a forum for people with impulsive replies.. no excuse.. but welcome to the neighborhood. That part of the scenery is going to be pretty consistent. You'll never find a community of people who want to help more, than this one. Its a package deal.

That said.. (and of course i dont have time to right now, otherwise i would be compromising other things that i have today that are time sensitive..)

I have a lot to say on this issue. Ive been on stims almost all my life.. and this is a struggle that i truly do sympathize with genuinely.. (which is why im much more shameless to joke about it.. because i can turn around and drop articles, research, and a lifetime of experience behind my answers).

While there are trolls here.. you'll find that the laughter often comes from people, who laugh loudest because they understand far more clearly (and on a much deeper personal level) then many others.

I'll be back with my boner research later. Exciting stuff! (not really, milking for puns).

Thanks for all the inputs.
INMHO Tadafil gives me the best possible support than "techniques and partners".

Could you suggest another alternative for this "Brutal Combo" so that I can discuss with my doctor?

btw I am not feeling ashamed for asking support for this problem, because I know the plight of those men who ignore this issue to act normally but ultimately let their partners discuss this as a joke with those men who is not having this issue or bypassed this issue using Tadafil

Thanks again.

Thank you for asking, there are quite a few of us with similar questions/issues - add to these concerns the side effects of arthritis medications, including the anti-inflamatory meds used to treat arthritic flares. Would love to know if others have found any realistic options/work-arounds? Sometimes we have to decide whether or not an evening of "fun" is worth about a week of pain from the inflammation brought on by Sildenifil.

Been waiting for @Impromptu_DTour to follow-up on that teaser post he dropped on us before dashing off...

Smile Re: Workarounds for Erectile Dysfunctions?

My Update.
As I am Getting accustomed to Fluvoxine and starttera I am getting improvements. That doesn't mean that, without no supporting ED medication I am getting quality erection, but with meds for ED, I am Ok now. But there is one more thing I have experienced in the past, that once A medication starts, my libido (I would prefer to say it as Quality of erection - Not sure weather both imply the same thing) goes down. But after few weeks it will get better, but again will go down.
So far In such situations Tadafil 20mg helps me. Doctor says it will have effect for three days, but for me I can manage at least for one week with one tablet. But I have tried sidenafil (suppoosed to be Short span only) and in my case it is not even helping much. I think I can do these because I have no Heart problems and never felt any difficulty while using this Tadafil. (Dont know the long term consequences, but I am 46 So I think It will be justifiable.)
btw I am from India and I am using Tadafil with brand name "Megalis 20mg". I have tried other brands which are less costly, but believe me - there is huge difference in the effect. Actually I was not a believer of Brand value, but in this case it is very obvious.(At least for me!)
So far Tadafil is my Hero, I think everybody here also using either of three.
I think my usage "workaround" was improper for my intended purpose and that caused some teasing here and there.
Thanks for Reading

Re: Workarounds for Erectile Dysfunctions?

mirtazapine (Remeron) and/or bupropion (Wellbutrin) plus dextroamphetamine (Dexedrine) is one alternative cocktail that should have much less effect upon peripheral vascular function.

Cheers,
Ian

I agree. I was diagnosed with ADHD 5 years ago and the psychiatrist put me on Wellbutrin which caused ED. He then put me on Ritalin which did the same thing although not as bad, especially at lower doses. But I decided to discontinue meds partly because of this issue and am still unmedicated. I haven't been very successful at changing any of my ADHD related behaviors since I stopped taking the Ritalin and am thinking of going back to see a psychiatrist to find out if there is something else I can take that will not cause ED (or some of the other side effects I experienced such as jaw clenching).
