Where There's a Will There's an "A": How to Get Better Grades in College

I went to a Tourettes Syndrome Support group meeting on Tuesday and learned of an excellent book that was suggested to me. If I am correct, it also comes in video form, at least that is what I was told.

It is called Where There's a Will There's an "A": How to Get Better Grades in College by C. Olney.

Hopefully, this will be of some assistace to someone.

OMG, that was one the first infomercials fromthe late 80's and early 90's. my mom bought me that to save me, I never even tried it or opened it. Guess it really is ADD or laziness.

Thats the problem. Writing a long self help book and trying to get people with ADD to read it is about as easy as trying to shove a grapefruit up my nose. I still have a book about add from about 7 years ago which i have yet to read.

They should design ADD aids maybe in the form of some macromedia flashes with lots of breakdancing squirriles ocasionally stopping to tell us something interesting about ADD.

I have understood it is also in video form.

Even thought it may be 15 years old, I still don't see why there would not be tips that you may be able to use.

Out of interest, how spesific is this to the US education system? Is it more about general revision techniques etc rather than 'use technique A to get around exam type B'?

Hi! My mom got this for me in video form and I tried to watch it, but after 5 minutes I started trying to imitate the man on the video instead of actually listening. I was like 10, and my mom comes in and finds me dancing around in front of the tv trying to imitate his voice. She just shook her head and walked back out. I think they might be really helpful if you could listen or maybe do it in really short increments, but I don't think it's really great for ADHDers. I never finished them and always felt like I was being punished for being bad at things because whenever I wasn't getting something, my mom would sit me down and make me watch. Argh. Good idea, but maybe they could make something a bit more interesting for ADHDers.

I once bought a book called "The Procrastinator's Handbook". I got 10 pages in, and put it on the shelf, never to open it again.

That was 3 years ago.
