Sense of calm and now...jittery and distracted again?

Hi everyone,

I'm super new here - nice to meet everyone. Recently was diagnosed with ADHD Inattentive Type, and started on just 5mg of Adderall XR. I've read in various forums that 5mg is ridiculously low. Anyway...the first couple of days taking the medication I felt calm. I was less socially anxious, I felt like I was speaking more slowly/clearly instead of mumbling, I was more patient, I felt like doing one thing at a time and didn't have the usually 10+ tabs open when surfing the net.

Now, I just feel jittery. Not calm and zen like I did before. I've been on the medication now for two weeks exactly today. What is going on? Is it not enough and the first couple days were my body just reacting to a new stimulant (I felt awesome those first couple days)?

I was actually concerned that I was taking too much of my other medication (Levothroid - I have hypothyroid) because for the first time in forever I have been taking it regularly every morning. But my TSH levels are within normal limits.

It could be your other meds or to low of a dose. Sometimes side effects are worse on lower doses.

you drinking coffee with the meds or any other caffeine products? (diet coke, iced tead, energy drinks)

Taking your meds with caffeine can cause some crazy side effects.
