There's two things I see going on here - people are not using PCs/Laptops to browse the internet as much, so forums which lean on layouts designed for those platforms are going to be quite difficult to even read. I have used my 5.3" phone to view the forum in landscape and can just about navigate, but then I sort of know my way around. Anyone new might be put off by the tiddlyness of everything. Saying that, posts themselves display fairly clearly.

Secondly, as mentioned before, social media. In particular Reddit, where there is at least the ability to search posts.

I also frequent the aadduk forum but it is plagued by a unique glitch where the first post of any thread is actually hidden from view. I don't know if it's just me or if the admins are aware as noone has replied but it's stuff like that that will put off new users. (<-- Just me complaining, this is not something I've ever experienced here!)

I was a little disappointed to notice that, when I recently replied to the thread about SCT, that the post I was replying to was over a year old! :facepalm:

I don't really think there's anything that can be done about it, things just change I guess.
