Which sleep medication works for you?

I’m quitting Seroquel and in need of medication that I can use to ease thoughts and induce sleep. Anybody who has had great succes with treating sleep issues with a medication other than Seroquel?

Re: Which sleep medication works for you?

Temazepam, or Restoril is the name brand. Seroquel is more effective but increases blood sugar and can cause weight gain, so as a diabetic I can't take it

Re: Which sleep medication works for you?

I took Trazadone for a few months. It worked very well, low dose. I decided to
see if I could sleep without it, and most nights I can.

My granddaughter who has autism takes a larger dose of Trazadone every
single night and has for at least 3 years. Wish it had been suggested sooner.

Re: Which sleep medication works for you?

Trazodone is a good place to start, and mirtazapine (Remeron) can also work wonders.

I’d recommend starting there before using Z-drugs or benzos like temazepam (Restoril).

Cheers,
Ian

Re: Which sleep medication works for you?

Thanx a lot for the advice. This is definitely medications that I’ll
mention to the doctor. So far I’m considering Trazadone, Zopiclone, Temazepam
or Abilify.
