Re: Today I am grateful for... (Part II)

I am so grateful that my daughter's boyfriend and his family don't bathe
themselves in perfume, after shave or cologne. I still have a migraine today

I'm grateful that they include me in their Christmas dinner each year. And that
they just meet at the Chinese buffet, eat dinner, and then go our own ways.
No need to make small talk or listen to someone rant about politics or religion.

Re: Today I am grateful for... (Part II)

I am grateful that meds have stopped the relapse for my daughter and that the hearing difficulties in the other ear is actually fluid that they're drying up with additional meds. Unlike last year, I have decided to count all small blessings and stop focusing on the horrible. Sure I wish she wasn't sick but I'm grateful when we can stop the progression.

Re: Today I am grateful for... (Part II)

I am grateful for being gifted a nearly new mattress because the owner didn't
like it and his daughter bought him a new one for Christmas.

Even more grateful for my daughter who lugged it into the house, wrangled the old one out of the way, and with only a bit of my help got the nearly-new
mattress in place on the old box springs.

And I'm very grateful that I could afford to send my oldest granddaughter the
money to see the doctor instead of waiting for her paycheck. She had a very
impacted blocked painful ear, and her lungs were starting to fill up. Thankful
that it was caught before it became pneumonia. She is breathing better now
but the ear is slower to clear up.

Re: Today I am grateful for... (Part II)

Today I'm grateful for my pill lady and the lady who's helping me with my apartment and such.

They're nourishment for my soul. Genuinely.

I've given too much of my time to negative professionals over this past year.

It's DAMN nice to have a couple of people who are absolutely positives and who get me and support me.

Thank God.

The "Do you like cafeine?" topic reminds me:

Someone asked me if I like the 1980s.

Do I like the '80s? ...

Re: Today I am grateful for... (Part II)

When I started working from home, I realized that my father gave me the wooden desk chair he had in his home office since I was a kid because it is painful to sit in for more than an hour. He sits in his home office for longer than that, now, so he bought a new chair. I'm on a strict budget, and it doesn't include funds for a new chair.

So, when my good friend asked me to babysit her 7-month-old and 3-year-old children for $50 later that day, I said, "Hell Yes!"... Getting both those kids asleep in bed by the time they got home is one of my greatest accomplishments.

BUT, you bet I took that $50 and found the least expensive, reasonably well rated, high-back desk chair on Amazon and bought that ***** for $59.

I am grateful to the universe for handing me the solution through my friend and her kids because I don't know how in the hell I would have been able to focus through that discomfort.

Even with meds and strategies and pillows and stretching and ice...

NOPE.

This new chair is everything I neeeeed!!

Gratitude <3

I forgot to buy zyrtec, but I found THREE partially used boxes from last spring that don't expire until 2021. ( the pills are in blister packs).

I would die without Zyrtec at this time of year, instead I'm just slightly miserable.

Re: Today I am grateful for... (Part II)

I am grateful that we got my ASD granddaughter moved to a small rural school
where she can be included in activities and have a variety of friends.

She's looking forward to going to the prom next weekend, she's a junior.
OMG, I'm so old my granddaughter is going to the prom!

Tina, "The Mutt," as she calls herself (Norwegian/Philippine mix), is my favorite nurse because of her skillset, self-deprecating humor, and gentle sarcasm.

I am grateful for her care.

Cheers,
