A smooth/ peaceful morning! Share your successes

I have a 5 year old girl with possible inattentive AD/HD (waiting on testing right now). She goes to kindergarten and there is a lot of organisation/stuff to get ready n the morning. I try to get stuff organised the night before.....but there is still getting dressed/breakfast/cleaning teeth/uniform hat and shoes to do before we can leave the house. Normally our mornings (esp Monday morning) are very stressful.

This morning I got her to imagine she was wearing magical skates that could help her zoom around to get things done. It worked like a charm!! She was ready waiting for me in the entranceway 10 minutes before we needed to leave. She also zoomed while walking to school (I can see this might not work with primarily hyperactive!) and we arrived in plenty of time.
She was so pleased with herself....so I am hoping this success carries on for the rest of the day while she is at kindergarten.

So....share your successes and strategies for a smooth peaceful morning!

Lol. I hear crickets. The silence is deafening.

DD is 17, was diagnosed at age 7. Our "smooth peaceful mornings" disappeared when the puberty fairy arrived.

Until my kids were about 7, they bathed at night, then went to sleep dressed in their clothes for the next day. It works great if your kids wear stretchy pants and t-shirts. Not so great if they have to wear school uniforms.

I'm glad you found something that works with your daughter.

For my kids having charts that showed what they had to do and the order they had to do them in (wash, brush teeth, dress, breakfast) and then trying to get it all done before the timer went off worked wonders.

Being organized myself also helped mornings move more smoothly as well.
