Question Typing program for dyslexia?

I'm not dyslexic, but my friend's son is ADHD and had a multitude of learning disabilities. She was telling me that now that he is going into 8th he is having a really hard time.

Part of the problem is that he has dysgraphia and cannot write very fast, for it takes him 5 times longer than his peers to write anything. I asked he if he could just type in class, but apparently he is also a slow typer and needs practice.

I've heard that there are typing programs for dyslexia that help correct words or something to that effect. Does anyone know about these, or have recommendations?

I think he would also benefit from a typing practice program, but that might be hard with the dyslexia.

He is in a private school in a mainstream class, so there is no IEP and the teachers don't really provide any special support.

Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated!

Try looking around the Being Dyslexic forum, especially the "got a gizmo" section. If you can't find anything, you might ask on that forum.

Dragon speak is amazing..i havent got dyslexia but im ADHD and Dyspraxia...with a bit of fine tuning all you have to do is speak and it writes everything for you, you can virtually command the entire pc to do things for you like open programmes etc etc save files..
