Earned a 90 on my second essay for college English, and wrote the draft for the next one a week early. I'm continuing to notice how much better I focus without my smartphone. It's like I've been drunk every day for the past several years

Re: Today I am grateful for... (Part II)

Got our first free load of wood chips from the tree clearing company today. Yay!

So I've been going around all day saying to myself, "How much wood would a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood."

Hope that s*** leaves my brain by tomorrow. lol

Re: Today I am grateful for... (Part II)

After a strange misunderstanding I whipped up some tears and left the land of Adderall that does not work and got the Dexedrine. Two months I suffered with that fake crap.

Within 15-ish minutes I was me again.

Re: Today I am grateful for... (Part II)

I was hungry for this chicken dish I used to order made with green curry,
and I googled it and " green curry" just a thing in a jar, and I found some in town this morning.
So I made the exact meal that sounded so good yesterday!

also this store has old el paso refried beans. I have never found any here and they are in tons of Mexican food recipes.

Holy ****! The tree company has been back and we now have three big piles of wood chips.

Oh my garden!!! lol Oooooooo....I can't wait 'til spring time. I wonder how many piles we'll have by then. Hahahaha!

Thank you helicopter chainsaw ninja and local tree company! I'll be delivering some home grown and home made goodies next growing season.

Jogging and the sound of The 1975 flowing through my earbuds while I jogged this morning. Both are really good for my mental and physical health.

Re: Today I am grateful for... (Part II)

I just heard from a friend that their friend’s daughter has been diagnosed with ADHD, age 4, and is now taking dextroamphetamine sulfate to wonderful effect.

No more raging and sobbing, no more middle of the night eating, no more trichotillomania, no more taunting of the family dog, for the first time in her life gets dressed on her own, brushes her teeth on her own, and no longer runs off in public when out and about.

I’m grateful to know someone was diagnosed and treated early.

Cheers,
Ian

Wow, sounds like she was having a really difficult time before being diagnosed. To think that some people believe ADHD is just a result of parents who aren't strict enough or that those children are just a bit 'wild'. I hope she gets more than just dex though. Medication can help a lot, but I believe it should never be the only form of treatment.
