Re: Small Successes

Got more hoops wrapped to donate to the local fire dept. and first aid folks, after I meet with them to see if they'd like to keep a few around their stations.

I thought it would be good to help kill time between calls, get in some fun exercise, perhaps they could make some for fundraising efforts, and laugh at each other attempting to defy gravity while hopefully taking some of the pressure off the heavy stuff they deal with day in and day out.

Looking forward to the experience of introducing them to folks who may not have ever entertained the idea...and who may still not. lol

Had a meeting, hoops delivered, contacts made, spirits lifted, mission accomplished.

Re: Small Successes

Just shared a 12-step meeting for the first time. I have the flu, the lady who would help me couldn't make it and there were four newcomers. So circumstances were really difficult. I just decided to do it anyway, since the meeting has to go on and it went really well. I feel proud to have been able to do this.

Re: Small Successes

I built a processing chain for Stamps.com output such that I can repurpose
USPS Postage to be part of the variable data of a print job.

This way, the stamp can be printed inline with the job, eliminating the need
to place adhesive stamps on the piece to be mailed.

That’s a big deal when you have, e.g., 1250 entries in the mailing database...
it saves hours of labor cost.

The processing chain massages the data so the output is fully USPS compliant,
even in the event of position shift (within a tolerance) during printing.

In addition to that, I built a processing chain for myself that does a bang-up job
of printing USPS postage on #10 envelopes, with the option of including an
address that is USPS confirmed, ZIP+4, and fully USPS compliant for position
and typeface so as to make for effortless OCR.

I never have to go to the USPS Post Office again to get stamps. A wee mercy, this.

Cheers,
Ian

Re: Small Successes

Didn't get any As this semester, which is unfortunate, but I also didn't get anything lower than a B. I'm starting an HTML course, two programming courses, and a fiction writing course next week, which I hopefully won't regret taking. I've spent most of the last two days transferring content from Blogger to WordPress. The posts were easy enough, but the interface elements proved time-consuming to recreate. If nothing else, it was good CSS practice. I wish I could finish up the remainder tonight, but after five straight hours of computer use, my eyes are starting to protest.

And I'm back on Vyvanse again. 30mg. Full-circle from where I started three years ago.

Re: Small Successes

Maybe this isn't such a huge deal but since I have been doing so crappily on everything else I thought I'll give myself credit for at least something.

I managed to take fuzzling to a dentist. So this required finding an NHS dentist, calling several of them, picking one and making an appointment. Things I usually suck at. It took me long enough and I'm not too thrilled with the one I picked but still I did it.

For a bit of perspective I haven't seen a dentist in about 2 years and even that was after 3 years of no dental visits. I need to find a dentist for myself as well but I think that's beyond my capabilities.

Oh gawd! I wished they'd censor out that scary 7 letter word...den***t on these forums. /cringe
I'm not as scared of them now as I was as a kid...but even still just the thought of them strikes a bit of terror in me.

I hope the ******* was nice and that the ******* didn't have to do anything to the poor little Fuzzly.
Did it have that gross chemical smell at the *******'s office? Uhhhh! That smell though!!

(((Fuzz))) Good Job!

Re: Small Successes

I found all of the drafts of invoices and papers that go with them, that were issued since fall;
Now I just have to find the pdfs of what was actually sent out;
then scan the documentation parts, put them together, and file electronically
Also: realizing that this is a three step job and there is no way I could have done this all today

Re: Small Successes

I got the flu my first week back to school (I was vaccinated last year), but it was MUCH milder than usual, and the year is going pretty good otherwise. I have a paid internship, I'm two weeks ahead in one of my classes, and I just converted my website from Blogger to WordPress, which proved easier than expected.

Re: Small Successes

WooHoo!!

I FINALLY have a sleep study scheduled . lol I've been talking about it forever. They have a sleep study center in a town 2 1/2 hours away...but they also have one in a town 30 miles away...the problem with the closer center, is they are notoriously difficult to get appointments with (I'm not sure why).
My doctor himself filled out all the paperwork and made all the calls to get me an appointment...and even for him it took him about 3 weeks, and several phone calls to get things going for me.

It is a month away yet (april 2nd)...but at least it's something .

I'm convinced that if I could get my sleep worked out, and I learned to not be so damned hard on myself...I'd absolutely soar in life.

Re: Small Successes

I’m rebuilding my list of recurring tasks in Outlook after losing them some time ago during an upgrade.

I’ve got about 25 entered so far.

For me, the cost/benefit ratio is such that it really is a no-brainer to choose to use them.

My job virtually requires their use, regardless of ADHD.

With ADHD, they may be the difference between FTW and FTMFL.

Cheers,
Ian

Re: Small Successes

I finally have a system that works:
i can't fit everything I need when I go out into a small purse, because this includes not just wallet, train pass, keys, and phone; but glasses, water bottle, umbrella...

A purse big enough to hold these things means that my wallet inevitably falls way at the bottom, I think Ive lost it and panic; then any time I buy anything I have to dig through the things and it makes me so nervous...

anyway if I have like almost a tote bag for whatever I may need,
and then wallet and train pass in a small purse over my shoulder and across my waist ( if that makes sense!) - omg, zero panic in stores and train

Im super excited about this!

I need new reading glasses; went to the "optical center" and got an eye exam and precpscription for new glasses, and this was near the mall so I looked in the various eyewear shops ( omg, what are they called? lol, like pearl vision or whatever),found some frames I like and now I can just go back and have them ordered.
