Re: Come on In If You're Online And Say Anything: Part III

I just changed the channel on tv and Daisy Dove barked her displeasure.

So now we're watching the guinea pigs on Animal Planet.

Re: Come on In If You're Online And Say Anything: Part III

I took my Dex and then went and saw a movie in a theater with Dolby Atmos.

It was Blade Runner 2049.

I experienced a level of frisson I have rarely experienced.

I found it to be a contemplation on, and questioning of, what makes us real, where do we find meaning, the operant conditioning of the nervous system, the power of neurolinguistic programming, ego dystonia, and the mystery that is birth, life, death, and the return to ash.

It had its moments when it was loud, so very very loud, but overall, the pacing and atmosphere of the film was meditative...and I loved that aspect of it.

It imagined a future I don't think we are very far from.

Cheers,
Ian

Have a huge delay travelling to Germany by train. Travelled through half the country and still nowhere near my destination. But somehow I love those trips where everything goes wrong and somehow I will still arrive at my destination.

Re: Come on In If You're Online And Say Anything: Part III

Taking Dexedrine right before grocery shopping means I make good choices in terms of what I buy, but it also means I talk to people...young and old, male and female, every shade under the sun, couples, moms with kids, and today, I even had the sweetest time engaging with a 9-month-old girl whilst mom and dad looked on, beaming.

I met a couple who work in theater after the husband heard me whistle. He found his wife and she sang what I was whistling (Anita Baker's "Sweet Love" and "Caught Up in the Rapture"), and she was a true songbird. Her contralto was just velvet and cream. Gave me chills.

I also met a woman from Kenya who is a Pediatric Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. I told her how much I appreciate nursing, and the degree to which I hold it in esteem (the highest). She was grateful, and we ended up talking about a little bit of what she sees and treats, and then a bit about ADHD (I revealed).

There were other interactions too, but I don't have time to write them right now.

That all said, there's a lot of joy in the world, and all you have to do is go look for it, be open and friendly, smile, and say hi...and enjoy yourself.

Cheers,
Ian

That's great! But you're the type of person I avoid in the store. "Oh no, this guy looks like the friendly talkative type, let me find a place to hide!"

I can appreciate that, and for sure if I get wide eyes or something else that suggests a person doesn't want to engage, I politely disengage and move on.

That said, I'm a gentle creature, and I have a good track record with introverts that are shy...my sweetie would attest to that.

Best to You,
Ian

Yeah, I was half joking. I've had to get used to friendly talkative people since I moved to a small Tx town, so I've gotten better about it. I wish I could be like that. Although, if I know the person pretty well, then I talk too much.

And in my experience, talking too much, or for that matter, talking at all, in a small southern town means everyone knows your business within 10 minutes, give or take.

Cheers,
Ian

Re: Come on In If You're Online And Say Anything: Part III

I'm taking mirtazapine, 30mg per day.

I have one of the listed side-effects...vivid dreams.

It's really quite amazing. Now I dream every time I sleep, and it's Cinemascope Double Plus Plus every single time.

Cheers,
Ian
