Bonnie from NH

Hi!
I am a 44 year old, woman, married for 20 years and the mother of 4 children - B 13yo and first teenager as of 6/15, G 10yo, G 8yo, G 4yo. I found ADD Forums when I was researching information about ADD. My 10 year old daughter was in the process of being tested through the school based on some observations that her teacher and me and my husband have made this year. After reading a letter from her teacher about the concerns she had, I started reading and researching about ADD on the web. What I read convinced me that it was likely that ADD was an issue with her. Since she reminds me alot of how I was when I was a child - more so than my other children - I was convinced that if she has ADD, then there is a good chance that I do to. I would wager a bet on that!

She has recently - a week or so ago- been diagnosed
with ADHD inattentive type. I picked up the book "Driven to Distraction" and have read it cover to cover.. Since my daughter has been "officially" diagnosed with ADD, I thought I would come and check out this forum to see what I can learn about ADD from all of you and in this forum.

Bonnie

Welcome to the party!

Always liked the name Bonnie... if I had a daughter I would have argued for her to be named that...

My son (10) is pretty ADHD, so add me to the list of company you have.

Hope you get a lot out of the site.

Welcome, Bonnie!

You will get a good picture of what AD/HD is all about from this site -- not just the clinicial diagnostics (boring), but the personal struggles (and triumphs, too) we all have encountered.

It may "click" for you like "Distraction". In any case it will open your eyes a little wider....
